Hello,

Google rich snippet on the product page is showing discription of the product rather than showing meta description…please help

It is a new Google policy.

Only they decide what is the best snippet for your website whether the meta description or the text on the product page.

Moreover the snippets can be different according to the customer's search query.



It doesn't mean that you should not add the meta description at all.

You should try to rewrite it. If it is the best description for the web page content, Google will use it.

Yes, the Google has changed the things. Now Google checking in description of page, not for meta description.

Good variant, it should be done.



But there is no any guarantee that Google will show always this meta description as one of the Google gurus said (see video)
