Google Consent Mode V2 Compatibility with GDPR Add-on?

Google Consent Mode V2 Compatibility with GDPR Add-on*

We are currently using the built-in “GDPR Compliance (EU)” add-on (Klaro-based) in CS-Cart for cookie consent management.

While the add-on correctly handles cookie categories (strictly necessary, functional, marketing, etc.) and blocks scripts based on user consent, it does not appear to support Google Consent Mode V2.

Specifically, the system does not send consent signals to Google, such as:

  • ad_storage
  • analytics_storage
  • ad_user_data
  • ad_personalization

As a result:

  • Google Ads and GA4 cannot properly interpret user consent
  • Conversion tracking and attribution may be incomplete or inaccurate
  • ROAS and campaign performance data may be distorted

We need to know:

  1. Does the GDPR add-on support Google Consent Mode V2 natively?
  2. Is there a way to trigger consent updates (e.g. via JavaScript events or dataLayer pushes) when a user accepts cookies?
  3. Are there recommended integration methods with Google Tag Manager for this add-on?

If not supported, what is the recommended approach to ensure full compatibility with Google Ads and GA4 tracking under Consent Mode V2?

Use @retailfactory addons. I had the same issue, asked them and they’ve implemented it. Cs-cart team hasn’t implemented it correctly and they’ve showed no interest to do so.
