Exclude products from cart promotion?

Is there anyway to exclude particular products from cart discounts.



Currently have a cart promo to give a 20% discount for all purchases over $400. However, there are a few items that I do not want to get the discount. It would be great it could be excluded by cataegory as all of items that should not be eligible for the discount are in the same category.



Tried setting up (not in - category: X) condition of promotion and does not appear to work unless only the non-eligible items are in the cart.



Any idea's how to get around this?

Instead of excluding the category, exclude the products in the condition.

"products NOT IN "

Little bump here - I tried this but as soon as the cart contains a product that is in the "not in" list, the discount code stops working entirely.

Is it really not possible to simply exclude just some products from a general "Order Discount" code that works on all products?

Unfortunately, no. Use "Discount on products" instead of the "Order discount" bonus.

Yes that works, but then you need to update the discount every time you add a new product to the cart.

Very strange that this is not possible. BTW ecomlabs weren't you working on a promotions improvement add-on? Then maybe you could add this to the list?

Unfortunately we are overloaded at the moment and do not have resources to complete the module
