When enabling Customization Mode, and then click View STOREFRONT in customization mode, I don’t see anything different (I do see some changes in the source code, but the frontend looks the same).
Make sure you are SAVING the changes after you make them.
In some cases, you have to click SAVE in 2 locations before bailing out of the customization module.
IE - Save the changes, you just made, then save gain once you get to of that particular window. It got me a time or two also.
Make sure you are clearing your cache too, if you are using FF, hit Refresh a couple of times to see the changes. You have to do the same thing in IE.

Oh, not that the changes are not saved, but that i don’t see any different “mode”. When enabling customization mode and clicking “view storefront in customization mode”, it opens a new window with the front end, but it looks the same!. Nothing looks different!
ITs not going to show any changes, that is where you can make them. Just move the blocks around to different spots, etc…
In Translation mode, you can change the text that is in the blocks.

I can’t move around either.
I never tried the Translation mode before. Now when I try it, some text in the admin change to green background, and i can hover over the icon and change, but the front-end looks the same as before. No change… maybe something is wrong with my installation?

I think it is a bug. I have the same problem as you.
Sounds crazy but I think I found the solution…
While logged in as an admin, just hit :
http://www.yourstore.com/admin.php?cc
(that is, add ?cc after your admin.php)
How to dissable it again? just hit the same :
http://www.yourstore.com/admin.php?cc
Yes, there are cache bugs related to cuxtomization mode in 2.0.x versions… So clearing the cache is necessary when entering and exiting customization mode.
