Hello.
I appreciate the generous 60 day free trial, it give me enough time to install, configure, design, tweak and get comfortable before I buy the license. (Other companies give 30 days, which I find is mostly not enough time, or a limited version, which lacks than main parts needed to get acquainted).
However, I don’t understand why I don’t have access to many parts of the forum, why I can’t participate in discussions. I would like to be able to chip in, clarify a question on an answer.
I am able to post in “Third-Party Servicesâ€, but can’t edit my post that it was resolved, or even reply if someone answers!
I think that the discussion forum should be open to anyone to register and participate.

Should people with illegal software copy also get access to forum?
Illegal copies are a problem for everyone who sells software, and it will not go away. Countries Compared by Crime > Software piracy rate. International Statistics at NationMaster.com
I don’t know if the vBulletien supports this, but if someone bought a copyof CS-Cart, he should have a badge, and then if such a person asks a question or wants support, he should not answered, (just like when you see someone asking and you know the answer, but you don’t want to answer).
This is my personal opinion, and everyone can choose how to conduct their business. However, I felt locked out from discussions that I would be able to contribute, and from threads I started.

I purchased cs-cart mainly because not of the software, but large and friendly community.
Many things in life will happen opposite to your likes and dislikes.
If I were managing this forum, everything would be locked for non registered members…
I don’t believe that locking someone out of the forum will have any effect whatsoever on the piracy issue of CS-Cart.
In fact, by locking out unregistered users (Potential CS-Cart customers), I actually believe that it is more of a detriment to CS-Cart than a benefit. Afterall, anyone can still read thru all of the posts and gain more than enough knowledge to operate a pirated copy of the store if they choose to do so!

Yea but from first post you can clearly see that reading is not enough. Also same person raises few threads with snapshot of his store. It is masked but clearly seen with added other then demo products, categories, changed logos with company details and info (this is prohibited by trial version as I understand) and so on. The store is set and running what else does him stop from buying a license like I did and you did?
What is the point of masking things if you ask for help and you are honest trial user?

Yes, I’m in the middle of building a new site, and in the process, I must upload products, add the right categories, features, shipping options, configure the payment gateways.
The reasons for masking are:
- I don’t want to link to a half-finished site.
- I don’t know if I’ll stay with CS-Cart (I had tried a few carts)
- The server I’m using is a development server. Tomorrow you might see there a completely different site
I really don’t understand where you guys (who are complaining) are coming from. The license is $265. I already paid 10 times! as much for people to enter product data. I already paid about $200 for designers to make some changes to the basic skin. I will need to pay more in the future too.
I know many many programmers that build sites, and after a year, they had less than 100 orders. This site that I’m rebuilding is part of a large company, tens of sales men, thousands of orders DAILY (between the few sites that they have).

Hello Cartier,
Please understand that there are alot of long time CS-Cart users on here which have become very fond of this product (& I am well on my way) thus several are quite protective of it in regards to piracy, etc, but it is all good!
Darius is actually quite helpful & provides a great deal of forum assistance to CS-Cart users which you will notice & most likely even benefit from over time.

Don’t waste your time, you can’t “upgrade” from the demo version.
What you’ve done from now might not even be accessible to you when you purchase the full license.

WHAT?
My memory may very well be fading as I have had to start & stop the completion of our new CS-Cart store several times over the last few months…
However, I could have sworn that I started off by adding our products & making design changes to the demo while testing, then when I was satisfied & made the decision to go with CS, I just purchased the license & added the license key to my demo version!
Upgrade of a trial installation to a full paid version assumes purchasing a CS-Cart license and receiving a new License key for a full version only. No file update will be required.
from https://www.cs-cart.com/trial.html
I also remember installing the trial, that it gave me a code to buy, and that no chagnes will be nessecary…

New version (2.0 onwards) must have had this functionality added, previously it was “Play it again Sam”
Please confirm this.
My understanding was it was simply a license code difference. I just started evlauting CS cart for a client site. due to bugdet, i’m not going to buy a software until i’m 100% sure it can do everything i need it to do to satisify my client. those 60 days should be enough time, but if i have to start over from scratch instead of just entering a key, i assure you, you will not be getting a sale from me and i will be moving on to try a different product that will let me evaluate, like, and purchase.
Hi,
I just installed 2.0.8 and after some editing in admin panel… i changed the system clock more then 60 days but there are not any blocking or restrictions.
The only thing was happened is re login into admin panel which might be due to cookies.
Can u please tell me that why site was not blocked or seized after 60 days ?
Regards
Rest assured, the Russian Mafia is already on their way…
