Coupon code in 2.04?

This may sound stupid but how to generate a coupon code? I need to make a coupon worth some $ and give generated numbers to client to use it? Now in 135 I saw no problem here. But in 2.04 no luck.

There is an article in KB

This should be reported in the Bug Tracker.

Bob

This is standard functionality.

Automatic code generation:
The certain coupon codes are displayed instead of the “No data found” phrase if there are any coupon codes generated in your store. I mean that there should the “Give coupon” bonus set up for some promotion and should be the order for which this promotion was applied.

For example in order to define the coupon you need to do the following:

  1. Log in to your administration panel, open the “Catalog” tab and click on the “Promotions” link.
  2. Click on the “Add cart promotion” button on the right.
  3. Fill information in the “General” section. Enter for example the “10$ off on order 100$” text in the “Name” field.
  4. Open the “Conditions” tab and click on the “Add condition” button.
  5. Select the “Automatically generated coupon codes” in the opened select box.
  6. Open the “Bonuses” tab and click on the “Add bonus” button.
  7. Select the “Order discount” option in the opened select box, select the desired discount.
  8. Click on the “Save” button.

    Then

  9. Log in to your administration panel, open the “Catalog” tab and click on the “Promotions” link.
  10. Click on the “Add cart promotion” button on the right.
  11. Fill information in the “General” section.
  12. Open the “Conditions” tab and click on the “Add condition” button.
  13. Select the “Order total” in the opened select box. Then select the “equal or greater” option in the opened select box and enter 90 in the opened input box.
  14. Open the “Bonuses” tab and click on the “Add bonus” button.
  15. Select the “Give coupon” option in the opened select box, select the desired promotion (created at step 1).
  16. Click on the “Save” button.

In this case if customer orders over 90$ he will get the coupon code and if you open the “Conditions” tab of the first promotion after that, you will see this coupon code next to the “Automatically generated coupon codes” phrase.
Manual
In this case you do not need to use the automatically generated coupon codes. You should set up the promotion the following way:

  1. Log in to your administration panel, open the “Catalog” tab and click on the “Promotions” link.
  2. Click on the “Add cart promotion” button on the right.
  3. Fill information in the “General” section.
  4. Open the “Conditions” tab and click on the “Add condition” button.
  5. Select the “Coupon code” in the opened select box, then select “equal” in the next select box and enter the desired coupon code into the input field next to it (any combination of numbers and letters).
  6. Open the “Bonuses” tab and click on the “Add bonus” button.
  7. Select the “Order discount” option in the opened select box, select the desired discount (e.g. 45 euro)
  8. Click on the “Save” button.

After that you need to let your customer know the coupon code. When he applies it, he will get a discount.
