Cart Version Applicable?

I’m confused! Everywhere I look there are different CS-Cart Versions. For example, our original installed version in the cart files was shown to be 4.11 back in 2015, yet oddly in the cart files there is a reference to a cart version 4.3.8… Now 10 years later, we installed a new cart back in the fall of 2025, that said we have no version number for it (can’t see it anywhere in the cart information) and now there are versions apparently going only to 4.20.1. Ours is just the Store Builder so is there a version that applies to it or that would have when we bought and installed it last fall?
We’re hesitant to install the an upgrade but with the differing versions we fear it will damage our existing application if not compatible!

The available version depends on your upgrade subscriptions. For example, if you purchased version 4.13.1 with a one-year subscription. The actual version will be 4.14.1 after one year. So this is the version available to you.

If you want to get 4.20.1, you should buy upgrade subscriptions.

Well the problem is we can’t seem to determine the version of the cart we just purchased last fall. Surely it’s to be found somewhere within the cart’s dashboard? As I say, if we go back to prior CS-Carts we can see versions like 4.3.8 isn’t it a later version than 4.13.1?

Click on your profile icon in the top right corner. A menu will appear and it will have the version number there. See below.
