Cart is so slow

My website is so slow. Not sure what to do.

219 Products

V3.04

No 3rd party addons.

Only have done CSS changes with hooks method.

When reviewing the logs there are so many calls that have to do with shipping methods. Is this what is slowing things down?

I have been to many different CS-Cart sites and mine is a dinosaur compared to them.

This is a major concern I need to get resolved quickly.

Any places to start?

Thanks for your help.

Is your website is hosted in shared, vps or dedicated server… Second test your site through gtmetrix.com and paste the result here… and also see the recommendation by Google speed and YSlow in gtmetrix …
Just as an experiment, turn off your realtime shipping and see if speed improves. If so, then you may have an underlying network issue since you seem to see a lot of shipping requests. Is the admin slow too? Or just the customer side? How many product features do you have and are you using filters? What backend cache setting are you using? If you are using 'file' you might want to try 'sqlite' if it's supported by your hosting environment, especially if you are on a shared server.
1. Turned off realtime shipping and did not change speed in IE9 or Chrome
  2. Admin side is somewhat slow, but not even close to demo cart on cscart.com
  3. I have 74 product features. (Not sure how many is too much or irrelevant)
  4. Only 2 Product Filters (Price, Manufacturer)
  5. Currently set to “file”

I contacted my host provider and they said the sqlite3 module is installed. I know it is a mysql database. Shold I change the file to mysql or sqlite? Is there anything else I should do/change prior or after changing the name in the config.local.php file?

    Thanks for the help again.

Didn't find your attached here… may be you can provide me the gtmetrix result link…

Also did you try to optimize your MySQL DB through either Admin–>Database–>Optimize or Phpmyadmin

I am also running CSC 2.1.4 pro version in Hostgator shared server and the speed is acceptable . But now i am moving to VPS for the 3.x version.

As far as i know in my case… you should uninstalled the Statistics addon in your cs-cart… this will reduce the server load.

You can try changing the backend to sqlite. But my guess/bet is that the underlying server is overloaded and therefore not able to process the requests.

DO NOT use mysql as the backend cache. No value in using the same DB to cache DB data as the original DB data resides in. The whole idea of the cache is to eliminate mysql from the equation…

A reasonable quality VPS can be found for about $50usd/month. Well worth the investment if you are even close to serious about running a real business. No reason to leave yourself hostage to the whims of other users who reside on your shared server. While a VPS is not a perfect solution, it is orders of magnitude better than a shared server.

Dude your page load time is worst 7 sec for 500KB …

Also from my site your site is very very slow…

I suggest you to move on VPS hosting… if you are serious. I am using Stylexnetworks.com for the VPS with 50% lifetime discount… you should try their.

You can also contact me on skype if you want to help on VPS or speed.
