Can't write template cache in the directory

Was busy adding products to my webshop when all of a sudden I get this message:

Error: Can’t write template cache in the directory: /var/www/vhosts/6/123442/webspace/httpdocs/eely.nl/var/cache/templates/admin.

Please check if it exists, and has writable permissions.

Refresh of webshop gave me this message:

Error: Can’t write template cache in the directory: /var/www/vhosts/6/123442/webspace/httpdocs/eely.nl/var/cache/templates/customer.

Please check if it exists, and has writable permissions.

I have check both directories and they have writable persmissions - 777.

Really no idea what to do now. Any and every suggestion is welcome.

Depends on what mode you are running PHP in. If suPHP (most common today) directory permissions should be 755 versus 777. If PHP is DSO then it should be 777.

The problem could also be that you have run out of disk space in your hosting plan so it can't create new files. Your host can best help you diagnose the problem related to a PHP application creating files/directories in your store.

Thx for the reply. Everything seems fine now. So I guess it was it hickup at my hosting provider.

That would make me real nervous (to not know why). Busy season is ahead and failures where cause can't be identified is cause for concern in running a business.

Absolutely right, already informed with my hosting
