Can someone be registered as customer AND affiliate?

Can someone registered as a customer, later decide they want to also be an affiliate without re registering as an affiliate and using a different email address?

You can register as only one or the other; however, there is nothing to prevent an affiliate from making a purchase. You could create a special usergroup for affiliate members to make management as a customer easier.
