Hi, on our site the cache is growing and growing after each clearing of the cache. The whole site including backup images is just 500MB, yet after several days or two weeks it passes the 5-6GB limit.
What drives the CS Cart requirement and is there a way to control it as I am reaching quota size if unmanaged?

Seems like the only way to manage the cache is to periodically delete var/cache.
Also support recommends adding this to robots.txt

I am really frustrated by CS Cart's cache management. After a few days the cache totally fills our host's disk quota, totally breaking the site including mail and all other things running.
What's the point of a cache if I need to clear it every few days? The cart should manage the cache and not grow beyond a defined size. It certainly should never fill up the disk of the server without intervention.
You should report your issue to the helpdesk. The behavior you describe is not normal and would indicate you have some kind of configuration problem that is causing the cache to grow that dramatically. If it's a bug (which it sounds like) you shouldn't be charged any support credits. But if it's a hosting configuration/permissions issue then you would be charged.

Thanks, I had already done this a while ago and was charged 5 credits for the following answer:

[color=#000000]We could also recommend you to disallow indexing filtered results for search engines. [/color]

Those two pieces of advice I had already found in the forum. That's why I am disappointed with how the cart SW handles it.
Then I would become a bit more insistent. I.e. that you have done both of their suggestions but still have issues.
Turn down the crewl rate to minimum in google webmaster tools. This is something I've been doign for years once my sites have a full index. Make sure your sitemap is registered and then google will crawl new pages fine.
One of our customers was attacked by Bing bot . We also turned down the crawl rate to minimum in bing webmaster tools to fix the issue.
Not sure what the crawl rate will do for the size of the cache. It may build slower, but it should grow to the same size without any other changes…

The message was added by 3rd party. If you go to the profile details page of any user on the forum, you can leave such status messages on the Profile feed tab
You can modify a user's profile without being logged in as that user?
I cant even post to that profile. It seems to me that this forum software is hacked. Not the profile.
