Cache backend class ("file") was not found

I just upgraded yesterday to the latest version and it seemed ok but today when I went to look at the site I have the following message on the page and nothing else:

Cache backend class (“file”) was not found

Any idea what might have happened and how to fix it?

Thanks

Wow, that’s pretty serious since it’s the default. Ensure you have the file:

core/cache/class.cache_backend_file.php

If not, then you have a serious problem with the archive you upgraded from…

Thankyou for the reply, I just checked and yes I have that file online still. Funny thing is the site was running smoothly when I performed the update and I have only just noticed this error. The upgrade was done about 30 hours ago.

It looks like there might be a server issue at the moment so hopefully this is the cause… will report back once I hear from my server techs.

Turns out it was a server issue, not a cart issue.

Thanks
