We are creating a C2C marketplace so the vendors are not “stores” but they are basically just users that can add products for sale. To make our site more user-friendly is there a way for vendors to also be buyers and buyers to also be vendors without having people sign up for two different accounts?
Hello. Right now I am using the free 14 demo that CS-Cart provides. However, I cannot for the life of me find this setting. Has it changed since you posted it, or is the demo not the same as the real product? Could you elaborate how I can find it. This is what it looks like for me.
Go to “Settings” in the menu sidebar (bottom left), then select “General”, and from there you’ll be able to switch to “Vendors”. If you don’t see the “General, Appearance, Company, etc…”, check the right side of the page (the selector can be in the sidebar, which is closed by default on some resolutions).
Please let me know if it helps, and thank you for bringing this up.
As for what was said above, a customer can indeed become a seller. The differance is as follows:
“Vendor profile” in C2C is more like “Business/legal info that the seller might need to provide”.
The customer who signs up as a vendor becomes “Vendor’s administrator”. Basically, they get access to the control panel and can edit vendor profile.
P.S. CS-Cart also allows you to change almost any text of the interface (admin and seler panel included) without codding. So, if you don’t like the term “vendor”, you can replace it with anything you’d like.
Settings (bottom left corner) → General → Vendors (from the list).
I’m not sure about the demo being the same, maybe it’s lacking some features. Maybe it’s better to start a new thread and ask about that. I am just a general user, no expert
