Backup Shipping Options

So for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, CS has been unable to retrieve rates from the FedEx live server. It returns a “Request for Express rates returned error.” when testing. For a customer, it shows no shipping options available.

Is there a way for shipping to fall back to FedEx rate charts or something if it can’t connect to the shipping calc server? I lose sales because the customers think we can’t ship to them when in fact it’s just the FedEx servers flaking out and CS saying there are no options.

I’m really getting frustrated with the live shipping rates. I don’t know what the deal is. The other cart system I used never seemed to have any issues.

That’s strange. I’ve never had any troubles with FedEx shipping. Time for helpdesk.
