Back up

I want to change servers is it possible to back up my CS Cart/website onto my local computer with out going through FTP, cpanel or my current server and download it directly to my hard drive ??

There isn't any other way. You have to use either ftp or cPanel.

Uploading by ftp would take ages…




  1. make fresh cs-cart (matching version) install with DB without any demo product.


  2. now create dir with file manager (if your panel gots one) “public_html2”


  3. compress all cs-cart dir with tar and upload it with file manager to “public_html2”. File managers sometime has extract feature aswell.


  4. Make full DB backup on localhost. Restore DB on fresh cs-cart install on server.


  5. rename public_html to public_html3, then public_html2 to public_html



    Set appropriate CHMOD user/group







    Ah…



    only now noticed you want to setup all on your hdd… again make compressed file of /public_html and download and restore it on your drive. Ftp will take too much time…
