Auto Naming if SEO URL's

I’m build a large site with many categories and many of the same category names are repeated over and over again.



Like:

Ink & Toner > Canon > [COLOR=“Red”]Ink Jet Printer[/COLOR]

Ink & Toner > Epson > [COLOR=“Red”]Ink Jet Printer[/COLOR]

Ink & Toner > HP > [COLOR=“Red”]Ink Jet Printer[/COLOR]



Here a CS-Cart Generated URL

I would rather have just a sequential number like

Does anyone know how I could modify this, so that I could get

I know I’m a bit late on this mclamais,



if you export your entire product catalogue via the “export” function to csv (comma delimited) and open in excel you’ll be able to batch remove/add the seo names for all your products.



Simply re-import while overwriting data to save some time.

I have Navicat, so I can easily import and export all day, but I would rather fix the issues. The problems is how they are auto named. I have some so long they max out the 255 char field length



Example:

typewriter-word-processor-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-20-21-22-23-24-25-26-27-28-29-30-31-32-33-34-35-36-37-38-39-40-41-42-43-44-45-46-47-48-49-50-51-52-53-54-55-56-57-58-59-60-61-62-63-64-65-66-67-68-69-70-71



I would rather this be



Sequential Numbers:

typewriter-word-processor-71

Or Cat_id:

typewriter-word-processor-{cat_id}





Also I have over 28,000 records in the seo table, it would take some time to do it manually.

To better illustrate, here is a category called “1000” and I have it repeated within the other subcategories 16 times. It becomes a real problem when it is repeated say 85 times.

I never referred to navicat.

Export your current products:

http://www.domain.com/admin.php?target=exim&mode=exportEnsure you click on the “products” tab.

“CSV delimiter” = “comma”

Leave all options the same.



Open in Excel



Highlight the entire “seo name” column

Ctrl+F (Find) Copy 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-20-21-22-23-24-25-26-27-28-29-30-31-32-33-34-35-36-37-38-39-40-41-42-43-44-45-46-47-48-49-50-51-52-53-54-55-56-57-58-59-60-61-62-63-64-65-66-67-68-69-70-71-72-73-74-75-76-77-78-79-80-81-82-83-84And select “replace” with “” (nothing) gradually remove the 1’s, 2’s, 3’s etc until you’ve only got the text names.



OR



Providing they all have unique product names delete the entire list of seo names for it to automatically re-create on import.



I do know what you want, and you can’t use navicat for it.

I was saying I have Navicat and can easily export and import without having to use the web interface.

It doesn’t work.



I installed the mod and triple checked everything.

Then I went and disabled the seo. And then re-enabled it.

Here’s what my url’s look like now:

category SEO type - [URL=“http://www.youtipgaming.com/store/yugioh/excel-calculators-1-2/”]http://www.youtipgaming.com/store/yugioh/excel-calculators[COLOR=red]-[/COLOR][COLOR=red]1-2[/COLOR]/[/URL]

file SEO type - [URL=“http://www.youtipgaming.com/store/yugioh/excel-calculators-1-2.html”]http://www.youtipgaming.com/store/yugioh/excel-calculators[COLOR=red]-1-2[/COLOR].html[/URL]



It didn’t fix it at all.

but still not for categories.
