the block manager has a top and bottom area to drag n’ drop blocks into, however it’s limited to only being able to arrange blocks vertically in these areas, it would be nice to have the option to arrange block horizontally as well as vertically in the top / bottom areas.

Just figured it out…not sure if its very effective, but it works.
Go to customer\blocks\locations\index\top.tpl and open that file after you have put the blocks that you want in there.
Then, just create a table with columns and insert the blocks where you want them to be.
Note that the file structure will change if you move the blocks around in the top area so it will need to be update again if any position changes are made.

Yes, it’s a quick & easy solution.

I would like to have ability to split center block, top and bottom also. For example if I put news block to home page center, block content is little but block is huge, something else would fit on a side…
