www.bti-tool.com I still get the HTTPS in the url on all menu links etc after going to Checkout or a SSL page.
Any reason why ??

Enable secure connection at checkout (SSL certificate is required to be installed on your server) “CHECKED”
Enable secure connection in the administration panel (SSL certificate is required to be installed on your server) “UN-Checked”
Enable secure connection for authentication, profile and orders pages (SSL certificate is required to be installed on your server) “UN-Checked”
Keep HTTPS connection once a secure page is visited “CHECKED” but if I uncheck it i get 403 error.

This is why, you are keeping the https connection alive, thus, once the customer enters https, they shall remain in https for as long as their session is valid.
You need to diagnose and solve the 403 error issue first and foremost, then have that option unchecked to make your checkout the only area under https.

In other words…
If check the box, I get HTTPS on all pages with no errors.
If I uncheck the box CS-CART will not change the url back to HTTP, it stays HTTPS and then I get the error.
Why is CS-CART not changing the url back to HTTP if I uncheck the box.??
Have you tried clearing your cache after unchecking and saving, by appending ?cc to the end of your admin URL (eg. domain.com/admin.php?cc).

The weird thing is the 403 error. That should not appear, so that is the problem you should solve. You could ask your host why this is happening if you have managed hosting.
