When someone opens the shared cart link, all items in the original cart are automatically added to their own cart, making group shopping and collaboration effortless.
Sounds cool. Now make a big sister version for a complete “group buying” that actually allows people to see required order quantity so each member can contribute by buying to reach the threshold. Add settings to show group buy price (discounted), solo price for comparison or default shopping.
I looked at your screenshots and I must say it looks good. The admin interface looks clean.
I have a concern regarding “target quantity.
By having only that condition, the group buying becomes visible to a thoughtful buyer that its really just a wholesale offer instead of group buy with others. This also brings the concern of, what if one customer simply buys more or collects all, then it defeats the entire purpose.
Now one customer collecting everything is a good thing for most stores that are optimising for bulk more than anything else.
What I would love to see is the admin having two conditions:
Quantity target, current setup or
Required unique customers, new
By having condition 2, it allows businesses that are optimising for customer acquisition and engagement (literal group buying) than bulk.
Condition 2 really forces the customer to share and persuade close friends to join “collect”.
Then instead of wording it as “collected” on the storefront, we could word it as joined. This gives the new customer a sense of missing out when they see actual people are participating - it also acts as social proof for a random customer who wasn’t directly invited.
Last suggestion on visual UX
Instead of the product details loading with group buy block only, why not do it like this:
Add a shared block section for both regular price UI and group buy price UI. Present them inline horizontally by having Group buy UI as default view auto opened, so a customer can still tap on the Regular price UI to load the normal price UI.
Example
Group buy | Solo buy
Other than that, your addon looks great and ready to ship for bulk focused stores.
