Due to recent USPS changes, my shipping costs per item went from roughly $3 to almost $10 just to Canada alone. I offer free shipping. I can't afford to stay in business if I keep free shipping to non-US countries. Is there a way to add automatic $X to an order to all non-USA countries? Thanks
Yes, you can use manual rates together with the online shipping service. Just create corresponding destinations and specify rates for them
Seems, I can add $5 to non US orders for shipping. But when I set USA shipping, It refuses to allow me to use 0.00 for free shipping. It just gives the message during checkout:
Sorry, it seems that we have no shipping options available for your location.
Please check your shipping address and contact us if everything is okay. We'll see what we can do about it.
But if I put shipping to USA as $0.01 Then it will work fine, just charges a penny for shipping. Any idea what i'm doing wrong? Thanks
You need 2 (or more) locations in the USA location set as free shipping. The other locations add the required countries and set the shipping methods for those locations to required costs for each.

In this case I cannot help you without detailed code examination. Try to use promotions with condition by location and bonus = free shipping
