Posted by ThomH on 20 September 2013 - 04:48 AM

Take a look at our CDSEOadd-on. We implemented the custom 404 redirect link feature.

#167866 Is it advisable to move to CS-cart 4 now?

If you don't want problems, than wait for a more stable release. 4.0.1 isn't.

#161338 CS-Cart 4 Beta is Released

Posted by ThomH on 06 May 2013 - 02:03 PM

As I've looked at V4, it appears the majority of change has been to the structure of the file layout and conformance to a coding standard. I see very little change that actually benefits anyone other than cs-cart development. Coding standards come an go and are "helpfult" in some areas. However, to require all vendors to rewrite everything to comply with a new coding standard is simply ridiculous. If you were going to do this right, you should have put everything an addon needs to run, hook itself or provide services under the addons directory. This includes its templates, php code, controllers, classes, init/func.php, etc. Then everything is in one tree and can be distributed/removed easily. But now templates are scattered all over the place. I think you've created more of a mess than an improvement.

Edit: P.S. I hope V2.2.5 lives forever. It is by far the best product you've produced.

I fully agree with this.

Yes, the rich snippets addon has a ridiculous price for CS-Cart ultimate. 250 and does not cover everything.

Please show me your custom 404 page with page suggestions, search bar and sitemap overview on the 404 page.

This article gives good advise about creating a perfect 404 page:

Please visit the product details page to learn more about our 404 implementation, this may differ from your list to keep the prices as low as possible.

Our license agreement is very similar to cs-cart's license agreement and to the other add-on developers from this forum
one license per one domain.

We are not blocking sites (ridiculous!!!) if someone violates our licenses, but the add-ons will not work on non licensed domains.
If Franke's site went blocked, there is other in the backgound, probably he made other mistakes or server side issues and invented a nice story.
(we are not hosting his site, aren't a hosting company and have no access to his site)

We are releasing add-ons only after a long testing period.
If someone reports errors, bugs, we are fixing them.
Never received similar reports from Franke regarding the mentioned two add-ons which are working properly on many sites.
But received mails in which he is asking us to help him in setting up the third add-on.
We made it of course and all for free.
If this means poor support ...

Despite the fact that Franke violated our license agreement we contacted him a few days ago to solve his issue.
Never received a reply!
From this point you can start thinking about it...

I know that no one can be perfect, errors may occur, but we are making all the best to solve the problems.
In some cases it is not sufficient for the impatient, nervous people.

If you have more questions about this theme please contact us on our page.
Thank you.

I hope you will build new policy for licensing and will remove "server call back" function entirely.
It's a real risk for the store if your server fails. I believe that most user thinking the same.

I will be happy to buy, if you consider to make changes.

Your suggestions are welcomed, if you know a good working solution we will be happy to apply it.

As I wrote you will realize nothing, even our server fails!
This is nothing new, is also used by other programmers.
Also any time when you are logging into your admin panel your site is checked by cs-cart's licensing website!

... or everytime the page is reloaded?

Not, our licensing system will not affect the page loading speed and will not check on each page loading, reloading.
If you are installing/using our add-ons on the licensed domain you will realize nothing regarding the licensing.

Interested in purchasing this for a new version 3 site.

In CS-Cart Settings, I can enable the Search function to search for Products and/or Pages. Does this addon cater for pages too or only products?

Thank you for your interest in our products.
In the popup window will list the search results for products, for pages you can perfom a standard search (as was built in cs-cart by default).

#145489 Addon: Tabbed Blocks

Posted by ThomH on 21 September 2012 - 06:52 AM

We are glad to announce a new add-on from Webgraphiq - "Tabbed Blocks" for CS-Cart v.4 releases.

With this add-on you can embed different blocks into one with tabs for the customer frontend.
One of the biggest challenge to web designers is finding ways to place a lot of information on a page without losing usability. Tabbed Blocks add-on is a great way to handle this and was developed basically for product blocks.

You can read more details here Tabbed blocks add-on.

Interesting. I had almost the exact opposite experience. Money taken for something that didn't work, slow and unhelpful responses and a flat refusal to refund money for a product I cannot use.

Oh, and the licensing model would mean that Webgraphiq could disable a crucial part of my website at any time on a whim.

#50090 ADDON: FREE Horizonal Category Menu

Posted by ThomH on 16 June 2009 - 10:14 AM

If you tested it then you saw that the menu appears under the cart content, language, etc. drop down box.
IETester is not really accurate, but you know.
"I don't need to copy you as i'm quite capable of doing it myself thanks."
I am really glad about this, mainly if you would not have copied our work, even only the pictures and other part of the code...

How I see you "could not copy" our horizontal dropdown menuat all....
In IE and in FF too, your version is not working properly.
Here is our working example: link.
