Global/Category discounts and excluding products?

19 February 2008 - 09:03 PM

Hullo,

We recently ran into a problem using a global/category discount coupon. The issue is that we sell a wide range of software products, and with them, a "Dongle" product, in case they want to use the software on various computers. This dongle item is not supposed to be discounted.

Now - if we want to run a promo across the board, the easiest way to do this is to use a category discount coupon, and select the categories we want. However, & unfortunately, dongles are included as they're in most of the categories.

Using a product discount very quickly becomes tedious with like 40+ products to discount.

Suggestions? Is there a way to use a category discount, and exclude the dongles? Any way to use "NOT" wildcards in the "Search for product" section, inside the "Add to this coupon" section?

TIA!

CS 1.3.5 Database layout document?

10 October 2007 - 03:38 PM

Heya,

Has anyone documented the changes made to CS-Cart 1.3.5?

Asking as we make heavy use of direct access to the CS-Cart database for our purposes, and if there are major changees, then "****" :P

(Doesn't exactly reassure me how the 'official' method of upgrading is via a Windows "Store Manager" app over FTP...)

TIA!

Hidden product option/feature?

09 October 2007 - 04:00 PM

Hi,

I need an hidden product feature (boolean TRUE/FALSE) that is not visible to the shopper - we need this field for internal database purposes.

How can I add a product feature like this?

TIA!

Post-processing a field

21 June 2007 - 12:14 AM

Hi all,

I have a couple of fields that I'd like to validate using PHP, when the user checks out.

*) 2x email fields "Re-enter your email address" & make sure they match type.
*) A MAC address field.

Whilst I've got the code done (re-used from elsewhere on my site :P ), the problem is working out how to integrate it into CS-Cart. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I can sort it out :D

Part of the problem is that the code is quite abstracted, which makes it a bit tricky to figure out how to make the changes needed. I notice CS-Cart uses Javascript - fn_check_fields() for checking if a particular field's required, but my javascript's a bit rusty...

TIA!

HTML tags being stripped

17 May 2007 - 12:28 PM

Heya,

On the "Order status" page, I have a few status descriptions that are in HTML code (to go into HTML emails - a necessary evil *sighs*)

Now - these CANNOT be edited through the web admin interface as the fn_strip_tags in prepare.php strips all HTML tags from $_POST & $_GET - so any edits made to the HTML in the order status descriptions gets stripped.

Does anyone know of a workaround for this? I'm hesitant to remove the fn_strip_tags() from prepare.php as if I assume correctly, this will affect the customer side of the store which is very much not what I want.

Thanks for any ideas!
