#217917 Speed Boost In Cs-Cart 4.3.1 Beta

Posted by mayanetwork on 08 June 2015 - 11:55 PM

This have been posted in a couple places now.. We'll see if they notice...

Agreed! I'm sure we'd all appreciate @imac and the other CS-Cart reps to reply to this serious issue as it's killing our Google Rankings as Google is having difficulty finding content on all of our 4.3.1 sites! Everyday we've been running ranking reports and everday they continue to drop. Today alone we had over 30 keywords drop an average of 3 spots! This is rediculous and dramtically hurting our business. Would someone from CS-Cart please reply addressing this very important issue?

#196664 Speeding Up Cs-Cart (Attempts)

Posted by mayanetwork on 12 November 2014 - 12:47 AM

For those who would like to bring this up to CS-Cart's attention, you can see the topics in uservoice that relates to this:

http://cscart.uservo...peed-of-cs-cart 33 votes (2nd page)
http://cscart.uservo...g-use-memcached 22 votes (3rd page)
http://cscart.uservo...rt-with-litespe 17 votes (5th page)

If you are interested in improving CSCart's page speed, you should go ahead and vote for these in order for CS-Cart to take action on these issues.

Voted on all 3 speed issues.

#190101 Twigmo Vs. Responsive Conversion Rates

Posted by mayanetwork on 20 August 2014 - 04:30 PM

Thank you all for your feedback. Here is some important info from Google's Best Practices Guidelines (https://developers.g...artphone-sites/):

Overview of Google's recommendations

Google supports three different configurations for creating smartphone-optimized websites:
  • Responsive design: serves the same HTML for one URL and uses CSS media queries to determine how the content is rendered on the client side. This removes the possible glitches of user-agent detection and frees users from redirects. This is Google's recommended configuration.
And...

Why responsive design

We recommend using responsive web design because it has many good aspects:
  • Using a single URL for a piece of content makes it easier for your users to interact with, share, and link to your content, and a single URL for the content helps Google's algorithms assign the indexing properties for the content.
  • No redirection is needed for users to get to the device-optimized view, which reduces loading time. Also, user agent-based redirection is error-prone and can degrade your site's user experience (see "Pitfalls when detecting user agents" section for details).
  • It saves resources for both your site and Google's crawlers. For responsive web design pages, any Googlebot user agents needs to crawl your pages once, as opposed to crawling multiple times with different user agents, to retrieve your content. This improvement in crawling efficiency can indirectly help Google index more of the site's contents and keep it appropriately fresh.

#107450 How To Create Custom 404 Page?

Posted by mayanetwork on 21 March 2011 - 11:10 PM

The new default error 404 page for CS-cart is horrible and extremely un-user friendly. Does anyone know we can create our own custom 404 page? Yes we're aware we can do this via CP but we're curious if this is possible in CS-Cart 2.1.4 as it was in 1.3.5? Thank you in advance for your advice :-)
