#191028 Development Mode - Just For You.

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 29 August 2014 - 10:18 AM

In
config.local.php

Add this code directly underneath the copyright notice:

if ($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] == '000.000.000.000') {
	define('DEVELOPMENT', true);
	error_reporting(E_ALL);
	ini_set('display_errors', 'On');
}

Where
000.000.000.000
equals your IP address.
This will allow you to review any error messages when displayed, and not to your customers.

#181607 What Are People Using Other Than Searchanise On Cs4?

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 12 April 2014 - 10:52 AM

Why fuck around when old CS-Cart developers make the same thing?

$49 - Does the job for everything but the first combination image (my issue only).

#177022 Website Overhaul - Great Experience

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 07 February 2014 - 04:54 AM

Hope he's patient! He got pretty beat-up/fed-up with users here. The one thing that most just don't seem to understand is that it takes time and energy to gain knowledge about how to do things right in cs-cart and then everyone expects you to advise them for free. They forget that people here comment in this forum out of the goodness of their heart, not out of any kind of obligation or expectation.

I think you've surpassed my post count... people still want freebies from ME...

#173941 Advanced SEO by 4Sprung most comprehensive SEO addon on the market

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 23 December 2013 - 04:24 AM

Steve22 - You should raise the price to AU$999, it's too cheap by the looks of what you've included. Half the items you've listed I'd be charging $500 to start off with. Just an idea to balance the two posts above.

#173678 /cs-cart = /searchstring&q=cs-cart

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 18 December 2013 - 12:07 AM

For those whom may have entire families of products that are easier to crosslink multiple items via search parameters.

#171968 A Review of 4sprung

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 20 November 2013 - 03:31 AM

This trainwreck has run it's rails - Someone please close this thread please.
cscartuser, please direct your complaints directly to 4sprung directly - you are no longer a customer so I doubt I would care about your business given your attitude of late.

#170246 A Review of 4sprung

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 23 October 2013 - 09:44 PM

I would assume you read the product description if you purchase something.

and yes you a right customers like this we want to scare off so good idea.

we don't need to sell addons that's not our business. Personally I would be happy that someone invest the time writing something I could never write myself is very useful for my business and I could never afford to commission and I can pick up for a fraction of the cost .

Steve,

With every industry you've got to target a certain demographic - this forum is full of whiny cheap ***** who think Freelancer.com is a valid destination for coding projects. It would be better worth your time to refine your addons and target CS-Cart stores in Australia / New Zealand who will appreciate your efforts based upon the expected charge ($500 may be high in USD, but it certainly isn't in AUD).

I get consistent calls to drop my prices to wholesale levels, to which I reply "F***off" - I know how you feel.

J.

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 17 September 2013 - 12:28 AM

#167660 You have reached your quota of negative votes for the day

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 02 September 2013 - 12:26 AM

You have reached your quota of negative votes for the day.

Increase this please - 5 per day would be sufficient.
We've got people posting 'updates' in threads promoting their own product.

Conversation is good, but having some jackass says "LOOK AT ME AND MY PRODUCT" every remotely related thread, it gets f*cking old.

#166346 eWay CsCart configure Help!

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 05 August 2013 - 11:09 PM

The API is for Australia only, any errors you have are probably related to the eway addon attempting to pass the transaction through Australia.

#163758 I've never made a sale

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 17 June 2013 - 08:46 AM

You need a simple methodology.

1) Don't target everyone - Everyone doesn't give a shit about you, your store or your livelyhood.

2) Moving along with #1 - Target the people that YOU would like to talk to in a room. Technically we call these demographics which will provide a sizeable portion of your income.

3) Do not write boring, monotone emails, descriptions, and sales information. Every tinge of the product has to have some character, people don't buy on price alone, and those who do will whore out their wallet to the guy across the street to save a dime.

4) Moving along with #3 - Target a style, my own in humour "I'm a funny bastard, even without the crown" - The reason that most people are still reading this, is because they know there is something at the end of this sentence (see?)

5) Give customers options - This is my PAIN. Every customer is different, they have different tastes, styles and budgets. They also have different ways they would go about business so it becomes a balancing act upon providing good, well meaning customer service while simultaneously providing the goods quickly.

6) Do not, under any circumstances ride on the bandwagon. CS-Cart has released 4.0? fuck yeah?! - Fuck no.
Remember all those clowns who went out and purchase HD-DVD players, Betamax Cassettes and Bitcoins - Early adopters get screwed for the convenience. Keep the store, focus on the customer, the product and the technology when you can.

7) Speak to people. Opinions count more when they have purchased from you, so find a way to get your first sale, make a loss if you must. The fact that you've made a sale will break down more mental barriers than you'd expect. Being a business owner isn't all fun and games, but it makes you start visually identifying yourself to a certain crowd. I speak to associates via Skype when I have an opportunity, discussing business, CS-Cart, international orders, customer reviews etc. It helps to know that someone else is in the same boat when you need them, as they'll need you.

8) "SEO" is dead - Google shows people how to win "Content is king" - Just write some and everything else will meld quite well - then you optimise.

9) See #10

10) End.

#162277 Big 'N' Bold Packing Slip

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 23 May 2013 - 09:50 AM

A simple mod to allow larger display of the recipient address on standard packing slips.
  • Auto Capitalization of the customer's name and address.
  • Auto Uppercase for the City/Suburb
  • Uses the Code prefix rather than description (Victoria = VIC, Florida = FL)
  • Easier to read size for printouts on letter or A4 paper.
  • Hides the Country is 'Australia' - Change to your own country to save the extra print line.

#162049 PayPal payments Pro

Posted by JesseLeeStringer on 19 May 2013 - 12:25 AM

I.
HATE.
PAYPAL.

Goes without saying that I will never accept it on my website, where my business partners agree with me at least.
The biggest hurdle from me is simply their attitude - Banks & Payment processors such as Authorize.net are part of the retail banking establishment whereas PayPal is not. Two sets of rules for two separate breeds of company.

I detest any establishment that can, on their own mind decide how a transaction is fraudulent and make their decision law.
So.... Yeah... I hate PayPal with a passion, and yes I've been "burnt" by having a few $1,000 frozen in my account for a few weeks because getting paid in Euros is apparently fraud.
