Shipping options disappeared and no longer showing.

13 November 2007 - 09:53 PM

I have CS version 1.3.4.sp1 and until yesterday my only shipping option (which is custom/manual and set to $0) was working well until I decided to add a new shipping option (for International customers).

The problem is the new option wouldn't appear in the front end. So I deleted both the new option and the old -working- option. When I tried to at least reinstate the regular custom shipping method so orders can at least go thru, it doesn't show in the front end either. It shows:

Unfortunately no shipping options are available for your location.
Please contact us and we will see about delivering to you.

I made sure shipping options wasn't disabled and I am not using any carrier. Like I said, it's supposed to be manual but it still doesn't show up.

If you know what this is and how to fix it, please let me know. The frontdesk wants $45 to support this question for 1 month.

Thank you.

Hello guys,

Everytime someone uses the Contact Form on the site I receive all the messages with a whole bunch of HTML attached to it. How can I fix this?

Here's an example:

PHP accelerator anyone?

07 February 2007 - 05:11 PM

Has anyone or is anyone currently using a PHP accelerator with CS-Cart?

I am getting a lot of complaints about the site being to slow and hanging with the AJAX loading sign...

My host provides the option of eAccelerator 0.9.3. Does anyone know anything more about this or any other accelerator?

Does it make a significant improvement?

Thank you!

How to? Migrating from to another HOSTING company.

Hello everyone,

I am in need of migrating to a new hosting service provider. My current one (mt) Media Temple is not working out. Ever since they began with the (gs) Grid Server technology my sites' performance has decreased significantly and I can not stay with them anymore.

I am researching moving to 1&1 but I do not know how should I transfer all my databases and the whole shopping cart to a new server.

What steps should I follow to do this?

Thank you!

Site SLOW. Client worried. Me too.

19 January 2007 - 12:46 AM

Hello everyone,

I have a dilemma. I have designed two web sites using CS-Cart for a client. One of the web sites (willbethinc.com) had an upgrade to the latest version performed by the CS-Staff as well as some feature additions also made by the CS-Staff. This web site is password protected because they sell wholesale.

The second site is willbethoutlet.com (currently available only on the following address) http://s6891.gridserver.com/. This is one is about to be finished, but once they notified me that they were getting complaints from their clients via phone/email about the site being too slow and it being difficult to place orders, I asked them to try the virgin Outlet site. This site is running the latest version (1.3.4.sp2) and it has had NO modifications made whatsoever except for the templates.

Here they also told me the pages took a bit long to load with the AJAX on. They say the "loading" message appears for too long until the site just "times out." This is bad. Specially since deactivating AJAX is not an option because they do not want the users to be redirected to the shopping bag everytime they add an item to the cart. They want the feature AJAX gives by letting them stay in the same page.

GUYS, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO
. I'm begging for a piece of your genius server/programming knowledge. They have even told me that their clients are requesting for the old shopping cart to be brought back. And it was MIVA MERCHANT V.2. Very ****ty cart! Imagine!

If I don't get this straight I can't be paid the 70% of the job remaining. I don't know if this is a request or responsibility of HelpDesk. Guide me on this one.

By the way here are some stats:

Version: CS-Cart 1.3.4sp-2.
Host: mediatemple.net (gridserver)

Thank you for all your help. Peace.
