In Topic: Modern Updated Vendor Admin Panel?

All valid points 12ka4 - the whole back end lacks intuition for the vendors, who, in 2018 expect an user friendly, step by step experience. We had to 'trim the fat' in the CMS so vendors would not get lost in all the unnecessary clutter.

In Topic: Stripe Connect Integration Settings - Merchant Of Record Liabilities

11 September 2018 - 12:46 PM

Hi Himanshu,

Thanks ever so much for getting back to me. Following some lengthy discussions with Stripe - I was advised only way to transfer Merchant of Record liabilities from the Site owner, to the Vendor was with the following integration set-up

Direct Charges ----> Standard Account (for Vendors) ----> Separate Transfers and Charges Configuration

Like I say, I am aware the out of the box integration ticks the first two boxes, but nobody at CS Cart can inform me if Separate Charges and Transfer have been configured.

Cheers

Thanks Extrarius,

Was really hoping to find a solution for Multi-vendor, especially given the new marketplace facilitator laws... doesn't look like I'll be finding one any time soon...

Cheers

In Topic: Multi-Vendor Roadmap

Imac,

Great in theory, but what about all the other States that do not have marketplace facilitator laws in place? Is a site admin meant to collect tax on ALL orders with a destination of the states and remit taxes on behalf of ALL vendors? Hardly an efficient solution.

Sales taxes differ in all states. If my understanding is correct, in MV you configure commission based on the seller and their respective plan and NOT the shipping destination.

Furthermore - not all multi-vendor models will wish to employ a commission based structure - doing so can directly impact Merchant of Record 'ownership'.

There are two add-ons 'available' - yet neither work with MV in a tax compliant manner (the TaxJar add-on can only assign 1 vendor nexus in a given state - what if I have 20 vendors in a given State, what should the remaining 19 vendors do?)

There needs to be an automated solution here - 4 more States have facilitator laws coming into effect in 2019

Thanks

Ah ok, cheers Jack. I wish that was the case - I have been in discussions with TaxJar, Simtech (who build the TaxJar addon) and also CS Cart sales... No body wants to acknowledge that there is a swing in legislation in the States regarding sales tax compliance and none of the above can offer a solution. Very disappointing
