#312581 Shipping Costs

Posted by 12ka4 on 21 February 2019 - 09:44 PM

Love this thread...I thought I was the only one struggling with Shipping and found it unnecessarily complicated and not well thought out..

I guess I was not the only one..

Funny thing is when you bring this up, they will ask you to get votes on user voice..

And the solution is so simple..like study what Etsy does or Ebay does and implement it..but oh well what do I know?

#312308 Thank You

Posted by 12ka4 on 14 February 2019 - 10:57 PM

Hello there.
Finally, we are opening our marketplace. We are now integrating for CRM software.
Our marketplace is for a specific sector. That's why we've closed the site. Only approved members and vendors will benefit from our site.
I have several add-ons that I use when setting up the Marketplace system. First of all, I would like to thank the extension developers.
I would like to thank to Line Teknoloji (http://www.lineteknoloji.com) who wrote the plug-in for the iyzico payment system, which developed a payment system for the marketplaces in our country.
I would like to thank eCom-Labs (https://www.ecom-labs.com/) for developing great extensions for Cs-Cart. I also thank you in the courtesy they showed in my e-mails.
I use eCom-Labs plugins:
1. Login Redirect: Enables you to close your website to visitors.
2. Banners Availability: Banners are displayed in a certain date range.
3. Live Search Free: Enables live search.
4. Search Improvements: Sets the minimum character limit in searches.
5. Order History: Gives historical information about payment in the Management panel.
6. Product From Other Sellers: View from other vendors that sell the same product.
7. Random Products: It allows the products to randomize according to the selected order.
8. Tabbed Blocks: It allows us to list products in a different view.
9. Pages Content In Blocks: Displays the contents of the fixed pages in blocks.
10. Vendor's Meta Data: Enables the entry of meta information for vendors.
I would like to thank HUNGRYWEB (https://www.hungryweb.net/) who wrote the Cookie Law Responsive plug-in for the cookie.
I would also like to thank all the members of the forum who sincerely answered the questions I asked.
And lastly, I would like to thank all the Cs-Cart family who developed the Multi Vendor system to help us use such a system.
If you want to review our website https://www.drstok.com

I think its the best MV cs-cart I have seen so far..

#312209 Hiding Vendor Menu Items

Posted by 12ka4 on 13 February 2019 - 03:19 AM

You can enable the My changes module and create the app/addons/my_changes/schemas/permissions/vendor_multivendor.post.php file with the following content:

$schema['controllers']['product_features']['modes']['manage']['permissions'] = false;
$schema['controllers']['product_filters']['modes']['manage']['permissions'] = false;
$schema['controllers']['profiles']['modes']['manage']['param_permissions']['user_type']['C'] = false;

return $schema;

Do not forget to clear cache before checking the result

Worked just fine...

I removed blog and pages for vendors as well using this:

$schema['controllers']['pages']['modes']['manage']['permissions'] = false;

#308495 Suspicious Indexx.php File

Posted by 12ka4 on 02 November 2018 - 09:57 PM

Here are our main recommendations on improving the security (except the most obvious ones):

1. Make sure that admin script is renamed and rename it once in a while (https://docs.cs-cart...l/security.html)

2. Make sure that you are using current CS-Cart version or that all available security patches are installed.

3. Check your store admin accounts and make sure that API access is disabled for the accounts that should not have it.

Here is the thought, why not create a security feature that once in a while (prolly every 3 months) asks admin if he wants to change the admin script name and if admin says yes have him rename and confirm (just like password).

As you prolly know not all your customers understand the importance of security and even if they if do they might forget to do it. So why not make is automatic, that is what software is for.

But then you might ask me to post this in uservoice..

#308222 Thin Theme By Themehills

Posted by 12ka4 on 27 October 2018 - 05:36 PM

Thank you for your feedback.
How would you like the detailed product page to look like?
It would be great if you could share your vision.

There is no vision, Amazon, Etsy have spent thousand of hours and millions of dollars perfecting layouts and design, I would just take whatever inspiration I could take from them into our designs with special attention to:

--> Type and weight of fonts

--> Size and display of pictures (in your demo images are too small because you have three column layout), without good images you can't sell anything on-line its a proven fact

--> Size and display of Add to cart/Buy Now button. Shopify stores, Etsy have huge buttons you can't miss them

--> Most theme designer don't realize but shipping is a most important thing on product details page, it could make or break a potential sale

--> You also have to worry about vendor info block in mv version (Uni and Youpi has optional blocks for mv version)

Overall the best design I have ever seen that would work for both regular and mv version is this:

Hope this helps...

#307922 Modern Updated Vendor Admin Panel?

Posted by 12ka4 on 21 October 2018 - 07:10 PM

A backend doesnt need to be all pretty and stuff, it just needs to work and be developer friendly. No animations and shenanigans.

You think same way as Cs-cart's engineers do..

Yes you don't need it to be pretty if your store has only two types of users Admin (you) and buyers. However if you have mv store you have to worry about third type of users - sellers or vendors. If you can't gain their confidence and trust, there will no products in your store and if you don't have products no buyers. So you have to apply same logic as you would apply to front end home page design to gain confidence and trust of potential buyers.

This is purely a business aspect most software engineers and coders won't get it. They are only focused on features, features and features, i have been in this business too long have seen same mistakes too many times..

#307488 Introducing Multi-Vendor Plus

Posted by 12ka4 on 11 October 2018 - 07:17 PM

To maximize user adaptation and make profits CS-cart should have made each add-on available individually and discount the price when purchased all 7 together. e.g. each add-on $400 separately but when bought together in a package $2000.

More than money what is important is that more users use some of these features to ensure all bugs are found and fixed.

#307473 Introducing Multi-Vendor Plus

I have said this before and repeating again, keep adding new features doesn't do you much good without modern re-design of vendor backend, shipping methods and other basic market place functions..

#306561 Best Theme Ideas

Posted by 12ka4 on 14 September 2018 - 10:17 PM

I am also considering a new theme and am seriously thinking about YOUPI with ALL of the recommended add-ons that go with it.  I'm currently using vivashop and am starting think it too clunky for today's expectations.  Plus not real happy with how it looks on mobile. Could just be the way it was set up but I'm still ready for a change.

My concerns are getting everything set up and configured so that it is ready to go live and start selling products. It would take me a very long time to learn how it is set up so I would definitely order the installation service also. But installing is only the beginning.

Plus, new images would need to be created to fit the places.

Color scheme to match.

Blog needing to be integrated properly.

Moving from a left hand column category tree to the top menu.

I'm sure there are a ton of other configuring that I don't even realize right now.

It's just an awful lot switching from one theme to another and having it done in a timely fashion and then getting it all set up so that it looks good and works perfectly.

How easy or hard has this been for those who have used this premium theme?  It looks good and I'm impressed with the SEO, usability, and other improvements this theme boasts.

Are the add-ons for this theme worth it as far as performance?

What other concerns should I have?

I'd really appreciate any insights as well as recommendations. It's quite costly going with everything but it could be worth it in the end.

Between YOUPI and Uni..Uni has more usable UI than YOUPI. Compare product display in category list, buttons and size of the box, Uni is lot more compact and cleaner than YOUPI.  Even if you remove buttons, box is still takes lot of space because it has a space to list features.

I think for both themes product images on product listing page are too small compare to most shopify stores out there.

That grey box with shipping and guarantee - it won't work for vendors if you have mv store.

Most of the add-ons are good and works but did not like the product suggestion add-on, implementation is very confusing.

Not sure about Uni but Youpi uses bold (700 pt) fonts through out the theme, those fonts are not optimal for very high resolution screens like Macs. Recent trend is to use bigger but thinner fonts and weight not more than 600, these guys haven't caught up yet.

As of this writing Amazon uses 21 px (weight 400) on product display pages.

Content pages are blah..no formatting or design, to me these are the most important pages.

Even if you ready to pay, they won't do any customization whatsoever.

Upgrading themes to a newer version is NOT one click operation like CS-cart upgrade.

Support for theme is expensive, you can not open a ticket without having technical points, and every time you open a ticket it will cost you points, even if it is a bug in theme. Once you run out of 30 points they give you with purchase, you will have to spend $30 to buy points. A request for upgrade will cost you $40.

Only six months of theme updates included in the purchase, after that you will have to spend minimum $99 (1 year) to get updates.

Its adds up pretty quickly..

Hope this helps.
