Improvements For European Union In Cs-Cart 4.15.1

25 April 2022 - 12:24 PM

We expect CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.15.1 to release this June. So we figured it would be a good idea to let you know in advance what we're working on, and what to expect. As we implement more EU-related features, I'll describe them in this topic and update the list with links to the posts.

Stay tuned - more info will appear in this topic in the coming hours, as I describe the functionality. Feel free to give feedback or let us know what else EU-related you need.

P.S. This topic is specifically about European Union and the requirements of businesses that operate in the EU or ship products to or from the EU. To keep it that way, I may have remove comments that aren't on topic or don't contribute to the discussion.

Try The New Vendor Panel From 4.14.1

19 August 2021 - 09:03 AM

Lately, many of the business owners who run CS-Cart Multi-Vendor marketplaces have been requesting an improved vendor panel. The goal was to make an easier experience for newer, less tech-savvy vendors, and encourage more of them to keep selling. That's what we've been working on.
Multi-Vendor 4.14.1 will come with a new vendor panel. We would love to hear what you think about it, so that we could improve it in the coming months, before the release of 4.14.1. We can't promise to include every suggestion though—it will largely depend on the complexity of the request, and on how many people are interested in certain functionality.
To keep things organized, this topic will be locked. Instead, we've prepared a single place where you can see what will change, try the new vendor panel for yourself, and share your thoughts.

[Video] Order Fulfillment By Marketplace In Multi-Vendor 4.13.1

19 August 2021 - 05:55 AM

By default, Multi-Vendor is tailored for cases when vendors ship their products by themselves, separately from each other. The money for shipping goes to vendors. Vendors determine the shipping cost and the shipping methods.

This approach is easier on marketplaces. Especially those marketplaces that are just starting and can’t handle shipping for all their vendors.

However, some marketplaces work differently. They collect the products from all vendors first, and only then ship the whole order to customers. Some of the marketplaces even have their own vans for delivery. Naturally, the money for shipping should go to the marketplace in this case.

A marketplace may even offer both types of shipping. Some vendors ship on their own, and others rely on the marketplace. To address this, Multi-Vendor has an add-on called “Order fulfillment by marketplace”.
