In Topic: Upgrade To Mve 4.1.2 Breaks Static Pages?

08 May 2014 - 02:35 PM

Thanks all - we managed to resolve it for now but haven't been able to pinpoint the cause yet. It looks like it's most likely to do with the way we copied the theme from the old installation to the new - we had renamed it to differentiate and this seems to have cause some issues. If it's not the name then the only other thing that changed was permissions/file ownership.

Basically once we put these two back to what they were (folder name and file ownership), deleted the cache folder and restart apache the issue went away...

In Topic: Are 4.1.3 & 4.1.4 Inherently As Slow As Poison ?

07 May 2014 - 10:05 AM

I am sorry but you are comparing apples with bananas (not even that) - this is not the best way to benchmark and what you are seeing from others is all irrelevant and non-comparable to you, apart perhaps to indicate that the problem is not inherently with 4.1.3. Some people posting results from 2Mb pages with 100+ requests, others from 500Kb pages with 30 requests. Even within your own installation you are comparing a live store with one with sample products etc.

Also, you are just comparing the overall 'grade', even having big/small images will really affect that loading time.

It would be best to get someone who has done it before to methodically work through things - need to break it down and see what is taking time, why it is slow etc. Can be anything from the db, to the config, to the presentation. Also I am guessing you are only comparing the homepage?

In Topic: Duplicate Orders

25 January 2014 - 10:28 AM

I have the same thing - duplicate orders all of a sudden. I am using Stripe too.

From experience, this sort of things happens when someone clicks the 'Submit' button, there is a small delay and then they think it hasn't been clicked and they click it again.

The best solution would be to disable the button once it's been clicked so that it cannot be clicked again - placing a notice there might also help, I might look into this in the next few days and post my findings here.

Bitpay doesnt uses credit card, only bitcoins. you can use other currencies to buy but it will only convert them into bitcoins upon payment.

Yes they will be redirected to BitPay hosted page.
not sure on mve as I havent tested into that yet.
it might work though, if not i will release it next week at a different price.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that Bitpay only accepts Bitcoins but I was wondering whether the user has the choice, when they are on the CS-Cart checkout page, to select whether to proceed with BitPay or the default payment provider that offers Credit Card.

Basically I don't know about others but in our case, we want to accept Bitcoins IN ADDITION to the payment methods (credit cards) we already accept, not replace credit cards with bitcoin (that would be commercial suicide for us!). Is that possible with the add on?

@simos, the screenshots are in the product page http://www.cartaddon...ent-Module.html

@requincreative - its fine. I understand your point of view and I thank you for your opinion.

@struck, FedEx Freight module for CS-Cart we dont have that yet. but on Interspire we have.

1. Thanks, I just meant how the checkout page looks like - basically I guess my question is whether the customers get the choice to complete the purchase using a credit card (which is our current form of payment) OR pay by Bitcoin?

2. I guess if they click 'Pay by bitcoin' they get redirected to the BitPay hosted page, am I right?

3. Is the add on compatible with MVE 4.0.3?
