I've used it a lot and find it's very cumbersome. Many, many, out of date add-ons, bad links, poor search engine.

I can highly recommend Harm Smit and Popped Web as an enthusiastic, responsive and highly-knowledgeable developer.

 

I've worked with many developers over the years and generally work with a local firm. Recently I updated my older v4 CS site to a new version with Unitheme and we worked to get it the way we liked on our dev site but were at a loss to get it live, as upgrading CS Cart and reinstalling UniTheme seemed to remove most local changes.

 

Harm was most willing to help us transfer to files, and helped to make many great suggestions on making it run well. He knows UniTheme and is actually working on some new themes as well.

 

Since then he has helped us troubleshoot and fix many small errors. He's extremely responsive and reasonably priced.

I'm looking at this all now. The submit order is buried and should really be part of the order summary block. at the upper right of the page. If you have several shipping methods as we do it ends up way to far down.

 

I've been looking at the add on carts and nobody seems to have really addressed this. I'm discussing it with Louis as a mod.

Yeah, but the available box sizes are sort of up to the shipper to figure out. And FedEx does give some leeway, especially on smaller sizes. As we get up to larger sizes then we get bigger discounts too.

 

I know I am loosing sales from this...

IF I define the package dimensions for a box that fits 5 DVDs, then every order for 1 to 5 DVDs will be have shipping priced at the 5 DVD shipment container. 

 

From what I understand from the Team's response here, I have to set up Shipping Methods for EACH of my box sizes FOR EACH of my carriers FOR EACH class of service. Shipping Calculation on Checkout will report each Shipping Method and the customer can choose the lowest priced method available. I have about 8 box sizes I ship via UPS Ground or UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Next Day Air Saver or UPS 3 Day Select. That adds up to 32 Shipping Rates for ONE DVD (which fits into the smallest box.)

 

IF CS-Cart thinks that's how it's SUPPOSED to be implemented, I'd like to know. They've set it up so EACH shipping method can have it's own box defined, so am I doing this properly with the 32 Shipping Rates for one carrier with 4 classes of service and 8 box sizes?

 

AND it sends ALL of these sizes to FedEx whether they are selected or not for a rate. This makes the cart bog down and refresh VERY slowly.

 

Can SOMEBODY FROM CS Cart answer what/when they are going to fix this urgent issue? It's been reported in numerous places, to tech support, etc. The current method DOES NOT work!

 

Failing that is there a dev that can come up with an add-on to get us dimensional weight quotes and that can run fairly quickly for rating? This can't be rocket science.

I'm sure I'm not seeing everything involved, but it seems like an add-in that did what Mark said above shouldn't be that hard. All it has to do is some math on the product box size fields and add the cubic inches in the order together and compare to box size. Then send that to FedEx. Or really, forget about box size and just substitute the total cubic inches into the API for FedEx.

 

Seriously, CS Cart staff, this needs to be addressed quickly, your shipping methods do not work with the way anyone charges for shipping these days, except USPS and they have become increasingly expensive.

Devs? Seems like a great market opportunity.

We bought this add-on and Louis did his usual awesome job installing and modifying it to my specification to go with our custom store. He even added a couple of small features that I wanted.

 

When it was done, there was another issue with our customer notifications and he fixed that for a very small fee.

 

I've bought a few mods from Louis I look forward to more!

Except if you have international customers they are going to be in multiple formats...?

I agree with the above.

The other issue is that the "combinations" create a new main sku for the same product. We want one main prduct with variants that each have a SKU of their own, not an entire new one. We'd end up with hundreds if not thousands of skus. This is impossible for us to pull into Quickbooks as a group item.

We sell packages and have different lights/lengths of arms, housings etc in each. If we have one main product and then have options that have their own SKU then we can build the product and apply the varients in Quickbooks. Combinations are useless.

We are trying to figure this out with CartSpan to import orders into Quickbooks and it's impossible to map the group parts otherwise.

Magneto and other carts work this way.

I agree with all the above. IMac you need to do a lot of work in this area. Magneto and other carts work much better.
