I use One step checkout - Flat layout 3 columns by cscartrocks.com

Works good for me & support is great!

In Topic: Shipping Cost

cscart does need to add more variations of shipping dependencies.

I have the same issue with one of my products.

I made the product weight something very high (1,000 LBS).

I created a payment method "Shipping quote only-No Payment-"

Select offline processor, choose your payment category, fill in payment instructions. I used this "We will email your quote & then you will have the option to make a payment.

We recommend creating an account, this will make checking out easier when you decide to place your order."

I created a shipping method with a weight limit beginning with 1,000 LBS and named it "You chose an item that needs a shipping rate quoted. We will have to quote this shipping rate for you. No Payment Will Be Required."

This way once a customer adds this particular product to their cart, the only shipping method that appears is this special one.

Make the rate calculation manual, weight limits 1,000 LBS to 99,000 LBS, allowed payment method = "Shipping quote only-No Payment-"

This is a bit of a pain, but it is the only way I found and it does work. I then edit the order and email the customer.

Hope this helps.

In Topic: Cs-Cart And Multi-Vendor 4.11.3 Released

05 February 2020 - 01:09 PM

I was hoping for some logic change in checkout, apparently this not going to happen any time soon.

Why would checkout have default address set? If default address is empty I get first option as Afghanistan :DDD also this ugly grey square box and red text no shipping options.. This is simply unacceptable..

I don't understand. I try to give my customers what they want.

I still have not upgraded from 4.9.

How can new versions be released if bugs and issues are not fixed first?

In Topic: Cs-Cart And Multi-Vendor 4.11.2 Are Released

Unfortunately I have to agree about the new checkout. I have two websites running CSCart, our main one as a small secondary one. I always do the updates on the smaller one as part of testing before putting on the main site.

I waited until 2 weeks ago to move up to the 4.10 series with the new checkout. And we then started getting orders that had no address, but paypal payment had an address. and its something to do with the default shipping address that is not working right and people can't put their own in.

I don't have time to figure it out or send bug reports so I have moved it back to the old check out cart. now I'm worried if it's disabled in a future release what do I do. I don't like falling behind on releases since they have useful bug fixes.

I second the notion on keeping the old one, and making the new one just another option

How come cscart is having so much trouble with new checkout and other developers already have nice checkout addons already working flawlessly? I prolongated my license a ways back, but too afraid to upgrade when my version 4.9.3 is working fine.
