Can this module be adapted to import CSV files instead of XML files?

@ecomlabs

The module you shared the link for appears to only "map" a files columns to the csv fields. It doesn't appear to allow for doing the following "on the fly during import":

  • remote url fetching
  • Adding Columns (categories) not already in the file
  • Renaming fields in columns
  • Filtering the file by data within a column
  • Marking up the cost by a percentage and then using the new number as the selling price
  • Renaming fields
  • And the ability to trigger regular imports, using cron jobs to run saved import profiles
  • Choose to either upload your CSV/XML file, specify a filepath, or download it from a URL or FTP
  • Supports adding, updating or reseting your product list
  • Import your Product Combinations
  • Automatically fetch images from a remote server
  • Schedule your import to run automatically on a cron task
  • Save settings to create repeatable import profiles
  • AJAX import makes large product feeds a breeze - no more memory limits or max execution time failures
  • Import product options, features and more
  • Import product to specific warehouse, also supports importing stock movements
  • ...And many more

Try the back office demo and you'll see that this one addon alone, puts prestashop a million miles ahead of cscart.

http://addons.presta...import-pro.html

And since prestashop is free, this addon costs $164 USD at time of this post, which also makes ita LOT less expensive than cscart.

With all of that said....I PREFER the look, feel, design and layout capabilities of cscart BETTER than those of prestashop. But PS, along with the total import pro addon, is saving me THOUSANDS of hours and THAT makes PS the winner in my book.

In Topic: Our Brands Returns 404 Page

25 July 2016 - 02:37 PM

I deleted all of the demo brands and have imported all of my tens of thousands of products.

But the brands page is returning as 404 page not found.

I have moused over the brands link in the features section and it shows the Feature>Brands to be 19

When I change my "Our Brands" menu link to "http://preppersite.n...l&filter_id=19"it returns page not found.

When I go into Filters section, it shows brands as #10

When I change my "Our Brands" menu link to "http://preppersite.n...l&filter_id=10"it returns page not found.

I have cleared the cache between these changes and nothing changes. The page always returns 404 page not found.

HELP!!!!!

In Topic: Wholesale Markup

11 May 2016 - 01:19 PM

@tbirnseth

I am already able to import a file for Quanityt Discounts and base my pricing as markup from my cost for wholesale groups, and a separate price for retail groups.

But that is cumbersome, inefficient, time consuming and cs-cart keeps freezing during import of just a couple of thousand Quantity Discount products being imported (I have about 100,000 total items)

So I have to import about FIFTY separate Quantity Discount csv files in order to get my 100,000 product prices imported into cscart.

FIFTY!

A simple promotions customization to allow markUP from cost for wholesale groups, and a mark DOWN from retail for retail customers, would be the perfect solution.

A partial solution would be to customize the promotions module to look at the selling price of the product, filter it through the group the customer is in and then adjust that price accordingly. Then I could simply use the "Price" field to import my actual cost and mark UP or DOWN according to the group.

Simple, easy, fast and no freezing up during imports
