To give another example, Simtech offer a loyalty program in that the more Add-Ons you purchase, the cheaper they get. I myself have purchased many.

 

But I am sure you would not want that offer to be available to a reseller (if for example a reseller sold your Add-ons). A reseller would already be receiving a deep discount. Your loyalty program is for your regular retail customers.

I too request Litespeed support. Its an affordable webserver that outperforms Apache hands down. We've been running CS Cart 4.x under Litespeed for around two years now.

Hi all, I'm currently running a heavily customised version of CS Cart Professional 4.0.3 I wish to upgrade to the latest version, but was unsure about the best way to do it.

My thoughts were that I could either;

a: Clone my store and apply the upgrade to that (I will need significant time to customise the skin, and the various add-ons, upgrading the live store is not an option)

b: Download the 4.3.2 package, install it and run the Store Importer tool (I understand the SI tool is not available for 4.3.3?)

I'm just wondering if there is an advantage to one method over another? Lastly, what has been the experience for those that have had their plugins updated by third party developers; is it expensive and time intensive, or fairly straight forward?

Hi all, I posted this in another thread sometime ago, but i thought it warranted its own thread in order to share my experiences with CScart Rocks.

Cscartrocks have been doing development for my website for around a year now. The job has been HUGE. They've totally upgraded my website from 2.2.4 to version 4 plus done a custom repsonsive layout for it. Not to mention applying the countless unique business rules our site needs to run (certain products can't ship to certain countries and so on.)

To give you some perspective, our ecommerce website is the ONLY way we make a living. We are in it "boots and all" so I take the development of our site incredibly seriously. If its down, and cannot function, my bills dont get paid. It's that simple.

So what this means, is that Im a perfectionist when it comes to our website, I expect the work to be of the highest standard. I can sincerely say to you all, that Louis and CScartrocks have been the best developers i have worked with to date. Their work ethic is at the same high standard I expect of myself. Their communication is flawless. And one of my favourite things about them is that they are flexible and open to changes. In the cycle of our development (which is still ongoing) I've sometimes changed my mind and asked for something to be restored to what it previously was. Louis has always patiently changed it back with no complaint.

Lastly, as a former (if rusty) web designer myself, I believe that cscartrocks.com do the best design/css development out of anyone out there. Not to bad mouth any competition, but some of the third-party dev teams are more php/programming oriented, and in one case with another developer I worked with some years ago on Cs Cart, they had to subcontract my work out again for some css code.

CScartrocks have proven to me that they can handle all facets of the coding from the frontend; css, js and html, to complex database queries, php coding and smarty template work.

I wonder if an S3 bucket needs to be created first or if we need to use our own subdomain.
I wonder how this works if you have multiple storefronts, I guess the cnd domain needs to be added to each storefront's SSL certificate.

Actually, you don't need an S3 bucket anymore. Cs Cart has done a really good job of implementing this. Here's a step by step for those who might be considering it;

1. Create an account with AWS Amazon; http://aws.amazon.com/

2. Click on your name in the top right corner and select "Security Credentials"

3. Go to; Access Keys (Access Key ID and Secret Access Key)

4. Create them.

5. Go to your Admin in Cs Cart; Admin > Administration > Storage > CDN Settings

6. Enter your keys

7. CS Cart and AWS will sync up and create the distribution for you automatically. DON'T create one in AWS yourself as its redundant.

8. You can jump back to AWS and go; Services > Cloudfront to see the progress of your Distribution being created. It usually takes around 10 - 15 minutes.

9. Back in your Admin > Administration > Storage > CDN Settings - you can click a link that will test if the CDN is ready. Once it is, you check the box "Enable CDN"

A word of warning; if you run SSL on your website dont use a CNAME it will break your site. Cloudfront is happy to provide the content as both SSL and non SSL with their own URL's. For example; http://d36563tr1.clo...mages/mypic.jpg and https://d36563tr1.cl...mages/mypic.jpg

CNAME; If you dont have SSL on your site, and would like a "pretty url" for your Cloudfront, for example; www.mysite.com and; cdn.mysite.com - there is a cool video here showing how to do it with Wordpress; He explains the CNAME creation around the 5:30 mark.

Hi, depending on your image settings in the Admin.. as to clearing the cache;

www.yoursite.com/admin.php?cc - or if you renamed your admin.php file;

www.yoursite.com/youradminfile.php?cc

Check your thumbnail settings in Admin. If you only have width defined, it will apply the same height value.

For example, with your large images you might've put; 1100 x 733 But for the thumbail, you mightve only put; 1100 - as the first value, so cs cart makes that image; 1100 x 1100

I have been looking around at some other shopping cart software as I currently use CS-Cart 2.2.5, which has worked well for me ... and have been considering upgrading to CS-Cart 4.x.

We've just today migrated from 2.2.4 to Cs Cart 4. Best thing we ever did. The code is better, our pages load faster, and almost everything that was an add-on on CsC 2X is automatically included in version 4.

I too spent a lot of time looking around prior to reinvesting in CS cart (custom layout, unique business rules etc) and there really isnt anything out there at this price point that can match.

I was looking at someone German ecommerce software and spoke to my local rep. I was told they host it and its $3,000 a month. I asked the price if I want to buy the software and host it myself; $75,000 per CPU!!

This is not a gripe, merely an observation. Some of us here make our sole living from our online stores. Some of those stores are turning over in excess of 6 figures plus annually. They support staff, pay rent, pay the bills etc, etc.

I'd like to know that if our store went down for any reason, there would be a tech contact that would;

- respond within 30 minutes
- respond 24/7/365

I would happily pay for this level of service.

We are intending to have a New Years Day Sale tomorrow, but I am currently receiving messages about my store license being out of date, and that my software could suspend. Not very reassuring.
