Posted by colortone on 28 October 2012 - 02:40 AM

in skins/yourskin/customer/blocks/list_templates/product_grid.tpl, you can add:

<p class="sku">CODE: {$product.product_code}</p>

just place it were works best for you, over or below the product name.

#138837 Amazon Marketplace & E-bay Integration - Lags Behind X-Cart, Opencart, Ma...

Posted by colortone on 16 June 2012 - 05:31 PM

Ebay is becoming more a chinese junk outlet, a saturated market where a quality product is forced to bend to lower prices. Amazon is more a open catalog and sooner or later your listing will be used by other vendor, wholesaler or amazon itself.
Online buyers shop smart, looking for lower prices and wholesalers will win at the end. The only way to make some money is on the first wave of new products or designs. Later the competition kill the market.

Now, cs-cart will focus energy and resources on this leaving other aspect of the cart on hold. Ebay and amazon is not for everybody, and there are better solutions outside cs-cart.

I think cs-cart should facilitate for other developers work on this in more efficient way, like preparing API, some core hooks or whatever. But cs shouldn't do it themselves. Just my opinion, but anyway I support this and hope they come out with a great addon, not another twigmo with limited features.

#135489 Wordpress website with shopping cart?

Posted by colortone on 27 April 2012 - 08:38 AM

Integrating wordpress is about making the header and footer look the same. That is easy when you have static content. But if you have in the header a basket with products on it, or a logged-in user, then it requires different coding.

I' like to ask any smarty expert to take a look into the smarty for wordpress plugin and see if could open a window to place some code (like cart_status.tpl, search.tpl,) into the wordpress header and footer files.

I have done a couple of wordpress integration on static sites, I was surprised on how quickly google index your wordpress blog content. will be a big plus for cs-cart for sure.

#131872 CS-Cart 3 RC Released

Posted by colortone on 23 February 2012 - 05:35 AM

I think the people concerned with upgrading skin and templates had not played with the new block editor and realize how powerful it is. For a designer is a tool of unlimited posibilities.

Caring to keep the old look intact? Stay on 2.2.4

#129610 Should Pot Be Legal

Posted by colortone on 19 January 2012 - 09:56 PM

Why you need pot? because you need to feel good about yourself without putting any effort.
If you feel good about yourself, and you accept life as a way to overcome obstacles and in the way be a better persons, there is not place in your life for drugs. If someone use drugs is because they needs to avoid a boring life. And their life is boring because they are boring. They have not discovered in themselves the tools to enjoy life.

Be careful. Ask yourself who is promoting free drugs? the extreme libertarians and the communist. Why? because they hate society and institutions. They don't understand fundamentals about hardship of life and how culture, science and art enrich people lives generation to generation.

I can tell only from what I saw and it is not good. You start with pot and with the time you'll become a gollum.

You replaced the negative margins on the columns with your own classes. Nice to know.

#124070 Rotating header image...

Posted by colortone on 19 October 2011 - 08:07 PM

The solution is there in the link, find the <div id="header"> and replace it with:

<{capture assign='num'}{1|rand:10}{/capture}
<div id="header" style="background-image: url(skins/basic/customer/addons/my_changes/random/h_{$num}.jpg)">

create a folder "random" and put your images there:

some skins don't give any properties to the #header, so maybe you need to declare it in your styles.css

#header {width: 890px; height: 80px;}

#123086 *EASY PROJECT* LiveZilla Installation & Desktop Set Up

Posted by colortone on 07 October 2011 - 12:30 AM

Before any FTP file transfer, you have to create the database in the server.
This could be done only from the hosting panel, is not difficult. Youtube has some video tutorials.
Once you have this, you could follow livezilla video tutorials and save yourself $8.0 :)

#121735 Review of www.webgraphiq.com

Posted by colortone on 15 September 2011 - 06:45 PM

I contacted webgraphiq for an addition on manually filled categories block.
They coded a complete add-on (no change files required) that was easy to install and use.
It allows to activate the emenu (or cs-cart flyout menu) on manually filled categories.(2.2.1CE)

This is great when you have more than one category block and you need to show the subcategories without refreshing the page.

If you need this addon you can contact webgraphiq.

#117951 How Can I Change Add to Cart Button?

Posted by colortone on 22 July 2011 - 06:30 AM

You can change the button with very simple modifications in the css file and the image background.
Have you used "my_changes" folder to add modifications to the skin? Is the best approach.

This works for me (2.2.1-CE):

.button, .button-action {
    background: url("images/my_but_left_action.png") no-repeat
    scroll left top #F67C1C; /*new left side background-image*/
    height: 40px;                    /*define the height*/

.button-submit-action input,
.button-submit input,
.button-submit-big input,
.button-action a {
    background: url("images/my_but_right_action_big.png") no-repeat
    scroll right top transparent; /*new right side bakground-image*/
    font: bold 14px/14px Tahoma;     /*define text size*/
    height: 35px;                    /*define position of the text*/

.button-submit-action input,
.button-submit input, x:-moz-any-link {
    padding: 0 30px;                 /*define the width*/

#115520 Forum Upgrade

Posted by colortone on 22 June 2011 - 04:33 PM

We understand that it takes some time to get accustomed to the new design, but it seems, removing the left section with an avatar, etc was a mistake, so we are considering to return it.

The forum has improved, is more easy to read and navigate now. Just a suggestion: when this feature is revised could you provide some screenshots before? Sure the left column gave the forum more sense of "community" but could be improved so it feels "new".

Also, could you evaluate to add a top link to the Knowledge Base pages, next to the help link? something like ideas | bug tracker | Member List | KB | Help . If not, you could also try to add some links to KB in help topics page.

New visitors usually comes and shot their question and a lot of times the answer is in KB pages.
