In Topic: 2.0.8 Design mode doesn't work

04 February 2010 - 04:58 PM

You just need to sign in when your home page comes up, then all design options are available..........

Ahhhhhh!

I was already signed in as the admin, didn't realize I needed to then also sign into the storefront once I opened it up.

Works now!

I enabled translation mode and edited the text that goes with those admin features... so they now say this when activated:

View STOREFRONT in translation mode (sign in to view).

and...

View STOREFRONT in customization mode (sign in to view).

In Topic: magento vs Cs-cart

Magento has two levels, Enterprise and Community.

The Community one, the one that's not $8,900, says they're not going to make it PCI-DSS compliant.

The CS-Cart roadmap seems to indicate PCI-DSS is being worked on:

To be blunt, I don't know whether CS-Cart is going to meet the PCI-DSS requirements by July 2010 or not - but I do know that the only option with Magento is going to cost $8,900. So I'm going with CS-Cart for now to see where it goes on the PCI-DSS path.

In Topic: Keep getting product code error???

your csv file doesn't enclose each field value in quotation marks - adding them will help.

your url's for images have spaces in them, might choke things (i say might, cuz it often does but i haven't tested CS-Cart on this issue).

your first field value, the product code, looks to be "182 Cardinal" - i wonder if that space is knocking it's lights out.

In Topic: 1 product image used hundreds of times..problem

26 January 2010 - 12:13 AM

I have the same problem. I manage my site's images and product data, so the problem of some image being missing later, doesn't exist. Each upload of product metadata (including image location) is a complete refresh. I don't want the cart to copy any images at all, but to just use the existing image (and my csv import tells it where the file is located).

Is there a setting to tell the cart not to duplicate images, just use the path assigned (via import)?
