About Me

Writing Courses are courses focused on imparting knowledge to students in the field of academic writing. Courses vary considerably in nature, offering instruction for all levels of writers, from beginners to experts. Advanced Writing Courses (ATS, BAW, BHPS, BPO) are specialized programs of study that concentrate on advanced topics in the field of academic writing. Writing Courses teach students how to write authoritative essays, how to manipulate language and structure documents, and how to improve their arguments. Such skills will prove helpful not only for students entering the academic world, but also for those who wish to move into positions of higher responsibility, such as professorships and administrative posts in colleges and universities.

Writing Courses can be either part of a major or can be independent courses for students interested in enhancing their writing skills in all academic areas, including Creative Writing, Essay Writing, Creative Non-Fiction Writing, English Composition, ESL, Grammar and Language Arts, and Poetry. Academic writing courses fulfill certain needs for all academic professionals, as they not only teach writing skills, but also hone existing writing and communication skills that can be applied to diverse fields and professions. These skills form the foundation of students' career advancement and can result in higher salaries and accolades, as well as improved opportunities for career progression and success.

Writing Courses help students develop language skills in various different areas, including grammar, style, punctuation, and clarity. They also prepare students to enter the world of academe, as they demonstrate their skills through various written essays. Many times, writing instructors provide feedback on how students have developed their skills, suggesting that they revise for better results. Many people enjoy writing but do not have the formal writing skills necessary to publish their works. The courses teach different skills for students, including how to be effective writers, how to present ideas clearly and persuasively, how to write in academic settings, and much more.

Students in an English composition course can expect to spend about two weeks completing this class. This is a challenging class, as it requires students to read extensively, write creatively, analyze and interpret material, discuss and evaluate their own works, and much more. Upon successful completion of the composition class, students will have the opportunity to take an "Examination Day" and present their works in front of an audience. This is an excellent method of improving one's writing skills.
