#225609 1-Year Licenses Discontinued

Posted by kingsleypress on 04 August 2015 - 05:46 PM

My understanding is that the 1 year license and the lifetime license are totally different products. The 1 year thing is more like a subscription...kinda like Amazon Prime. So in that sense you're not "purchasing the cart," you're just purchasing the right to use it (along with the Facebook, eBay, and Twigmo addons) for a period of one year.

#224831 Mailchimp For Multiple Stores (Separate Lists) 4.2.1

Posted by kingsleypress on 29 July 2015 - 08:52 PM

I think the addon is very basic...maybe they will increase funtionality in future releases, but for now it's just so they can say they have a Mailchimp addon.

Check out this third party addon from a top addon developer:

#224240 Paypal Overwriting Shipping Address With Billing Address- What's The Corr...

Posted by kingsleypress on 24 July 2015 - 06:46 PM

I was having the same problem and like you, I couldn't figure it out until I looked in the PayPal addon and changed a setting there. I hate it when "improvements" cause problems.

#222419 Cart-Power Reviews

Just wanting to give another shout out to these guys. They just upgraded the blog add-on on my store. There were some tweaks I wanted, and they did awesome! Thanks for standing behind your products so well!

#221137 Amazon Cdn S3 Nothing More Than Outsourcing Of Webspace For Images ?

Posted by kingsleypress on 30 June 2015 - 08:00 PM

So basically what you are saying is that I do not have to go to the trouble and upload all of my images, artwork and what have you for my stores and upload them to say Amazon Cloudfront ??

No. All of that happens automatically once you configure the CDN settings in Cloudfront and in CS-Cart. From that point on, whatever changes you make to the site get mirrored to the CDN and then served to the public from there.

P-Pharma...it's using the VivaShop theme from EnergoThemes.

#218588 Looking For A Go To Person For Cs Cart Work

Posted by kingsleypress on 12 June 2015 - 08:23 PM

There's a guy on these forums with the username Vali that can do everything you've listed. He's done work for me off and on and I recommend him.

I would look at Amazon web services for your storage needs. It's really cheap. Serving files from your home NAS can only be a bag of hurt.

#212768 Google Analytics Conversion Tracking Issue

Posted by kingsleypress on 27 April 2015 - 05:25 PM

I did just find this add-on... it's not free. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to maybe get at what we are wanting? I worry though that I'll install it and it'll say Paypal too.
https://www.hungrywe...r-referrer.html

I think I will try and ask HungryWeb about it.

This addon from Hungryweb does exactly that. I have it installed, and whenever anyone pays with their PayPal account, it shows the referrer as PayPal.

#211707 What To Expect From A New Site?

Posted by kingsleypress on 16 April 2015 - 12:10 PM

Triplets is 100% spot on. His response is exactly what I would have said, but he already said it. The lack of Google love you are experiencing has a lot to do with the competetive market you have chosen and almost nothing to do with CS-Cart.

Congrats on the beautiful looking site though!

#208799 Paypal Update: Action May Be Required

Posted by kingsleypress on 24 March 2015 - 01:36 AM

I've received the below email from PayPal twice now. Is this something that CS-Cart needs to take care of in the cart software, or is it something I need to take care of somehow? Looking for some clarification here... Thanks in advance.

UPDATE: ACTION MAY BE REQUIRED: PayPal service upgrades for merchants.

UPDATE: Please see an important update below in red.

----

Because we support our merchants in helping them grow their business, we continue to make significant investments and improvements to our infrastructure. These improvements sometimes require us to perform necessary service upgrades.

Please read below as we explain what the change is, and what action may be required by you.*

What’s happening?

Over the course of 2015 and 2016, PayPal will be working towards upgrading various SSL certificates. The changes include upgrading the following:
  • The version of the VeriSign Trusted Root Certificate used to establish secure connections to PayPal.
  • The signing algorithm of certificates (from SHA-1 to SHA-256).

Why is this happening?

We’re taking measures to address industry-wide security concerns which aren’t unique to PayPal. When implemented, these measures can help us improve the security and reliability of our PayPal integrations and help guard against current and future security threats.

When is this happening?

We’ve published the schedule of our service upgrade plan. Please check our 2015-2016 SSL Certificate Change microsite for the most recent updates as published schedules may change. Our efforts to upgrade SSL certificates for our production endpoints are scheduled to start in May 2015, and will continue into next year.

Please noteTesting in the Sandbox environment is one of the best ways to make sure your integration works. Sandbox endpoints have been upgraded to accept secure connections signed by the G5 Root Certificate. Please review the microsite for information when SHA-256 testing is available for your integration.

What do I need to do?

For information regarding the important details of these upgrades, how it may impact your integration, and what you must do to future-proof your integration, please refer to the Merchant Security System Upgrade Guide on the microsite.

*Please note – If you’re impacted by this upgrade, you may be required to implement these changes prior to the dates listed on the microsite. Otherwise, you may not be able to process payments through your current integration with PayPal. In addition, if you’re integrated with a third party, please check with them on any additional steps you may need to take.

Questions can be directed to our Merchant Technical Services team on our Technical Support website. Click here for more information.

Thanks for your patience as we continue to improve our services.

#203865 Recommendation: tool for lossless image compression

Posted by kingsleypress on 29 January 2015 - 11:58 PM

So to use this tool you download the /images folder, run it through the software, then re-upload?

I see there is an OS X version of XnConvert available. Has anyone used it?

#197322 One Step Checkout - Simple Layout

Posted by kingsleypress on 19 November 2014 - 02:38 AM

I just wanted to let everyone know that this is a VERY COOL add-on from an amazing developer!

I've always wished CS-Cart could have a slick, one-page checkout that doesn't confuse customers and this, my friends, brings that wish to reality.

Out of the box, this add-on didn't quite meet my requirements (I'm picky that way), but Louis faithfully and patiently worked with me, tweaking it to perfection.

I really believe this will reduce cart abandonment.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

#196065 One step checkout

Posted by kingsleypress on 05 November 2014 - 02:19 AM

The One Step Checkout addon is highly customizable. It has 2 and 3 columns mode. It's 3 columns in the addon demo and you can check 2 columns screen shots at the addon page http://www.cscartroc...p-checkout.html

Wow! I see that now. This is an awesome add-on! Too bad CS-Cart's checkout isn't like this out of the box! This add-on is on my "to buy" list. Thanks!

#195666 Cs-Cart & Multi-Vendor 4.2.3 Released

Posted by kingsleypress on 30 October 2014 - 01:15 AM

On this version I've noticed another spike in "links" that have changed. For example, it changed...
five-bonus-suited-card-game.html
...to this...
five-bonus-suited-rummy-style-card-game.html
...which just happens to be what the main name for the product is. The problem is every time CS changes these links it kills my links! I have created a 301 redirect for this but now I have to go through and fix the others.

This is so unfuriating!! Why can't CS-Cart developers fix this? Every time there's an upgrade it messes with our SEO names. Crazy!

#195067 Vivashop - Your Ultimate Responsive Cs-Cart Theme

Posted by kingsleypress on 23 October 2014 - 06:56 PM

Yes great theme. One other problem I seem to be encountering is that people are not able to check out with PayPal some of the time. I've not had a problem with this before, so I'm guessing it has something to do with this theme. A little annoying for customers who want to pay that way.
