#243658 Responsive Control Panel

Posted by whiplash13 on 22 February 2016 - 02:05 PM

Rafass, I don't think anyone is "against" a responsive CP, I just think most people feel that it's not practical.  There are so many rows ,fields and options to display that accomplishing this in a "responsive" design isn't a realistic solution.  This is a function that is much more suitable through a native or hybrid application.  I haven't messed with Twigmo in a long time, since I either use my tablet or my PC to manage my store, but if you really want to have a more comprehensive Mobile Admin App you surely aren't going about it the right way.  Put it in the ideas section and try to gain support in the forum for the idea in a more constructive way instead of being belligerent.

Strange way offering a suggestion by attacking and making assumptions, anyway you guys pick and choose your arguments and the funny thing is non of you has ever dealt or purchased from us. I guess we agreed you don't purchase and we won't sell to you so I would greatly appreciate if you could stop posting in my threat as don't want to wast my time like this.
Thank you very much.

Not really sure how my post was attacking. I first was suggesting you remove the 159 price from the original post so you don't confuse people when they click on the link and see a higher price. And then I was just trying to make you aware that a lot of your posts are very combative and demeaning which could scare away potential buyers such as Clips or myself. Support is a major reason to buy software from a vendor. I have dealt with many vendors in the CS-Cart community, purchasing dozens of addons and none of them have ever posted like you are in the forum. While the software you write does indeed seem feature rich and a worthy investment, it seems like your support would not be friendly and/or helpful should one have issues during install or setup. Oh and I know, I know.. you wouldn't sell to me anyway. I get it.

steve22 you may want to change your original post that shows the price at $159. Not for nothing, while I don't have an issue with the price of the addon as this is up to your discretion what to charge, your attitude toward member posts on this forum is pretty disappointing. If this is how you treat prospective buyers, how are you going to treat people who already spent the money.

#154234 Why so few templates for cscart.

Posted by whiplash13 on 01 February 2013 - 07:04 PM

For anyone upgrading from 1.x or 2.x this is very bad. I started 3 years ago with a 2.x cart and was able to do everything to get the cart up and running without any outside help. However, in order to convert my store to version 3.x I will need to hire a developer. I've been quoted $600 just to upgrade my site and keep the current look. I've tried doing a fresh install of v 3.x and then importing my 2.x data using the store import tool but this creates a train wreck of such proportions I don't even know where to start making it look like a web store.

Version 2.x was reasonably easy for end users to create a decent looking store. Version 3 takes it out of the realm of the end user and makes it pretty much a developer-only solution, unless you are happy to have a site that looks almost exactly like the CS-Cart demo. The skins in version 2 enabled pretty much anyone to get a look that was close to what they wanted with very little work. Not so with 3. I think it's a backward step and I think it will kill CS-Cart.

Wow I couldn't agree less. The block features of V3 make changing things easier than they have ever been. You can take the demo skin and through the use of blocks make a look and feel that is completely different from the demo in a matter of minutes.

#140057 Martfox, my review

Posted by whiplash13 on 06 July 2012 - 12:31 PM

As an outsider looking at this whole thread (and the others involving Martfox), I can say unless Indy is an owner of Martfox she should be fired. She does nothing at all to help the reputation of Martfox. Granted I know nothing of the company other than what I have read in these posts so I am trying to keep my mind open but the replies and retorts by Indy make this very hard. Besides posting information that shouldn't be in a public thread, she is rude and unprofessional. Now if she is the owner of Martfox, then it's her company and she can run it as she sees fit. But if she is not, the owners really should read through these threads carefully and realize what she is doing to their reputation as a representative of their company. As a hosting provider on a much smaller scale, I would never resort to such childish tactics as Indy has in this and other threads on this board. Just simply state we are sorry you had a poor experience with our company and try to work out any issues. If the issues are beyond repair in the eyes of the customer, work out any unpaid fees for services or refunds due to the customer and move on. Businesses such as these are built on reputation and I can assure you she is not helping yours. This is just the 2 cents of a guy trying to make an honest living of his own.

#125692 Kelora Systems's patent #821 "Guided Parametric Search"

Posted by whiplash13 on 10 November 2011 - 02:03 PM

I'd guess the real question I'd like to see answered here is whether cs-cart is going to release an update to existing cart versions (past and present) to remove an infringement of a patent they are now aware of? It's one thing to claim ignorance, it's quite another to disregard an infringement notification.

Obviously if the patent is invalidated on 12/1, then it's a non-issue.

I think it's great that they advise people here on the forum, but I'd like to know what their plan of action is...

It's not something that works in the cart out of the box you have to create a product filter block for it to show so I don't see how that is really an issue. Plus from reading various threads this has a real good chance of getting invalidated as part of it has already been invalided but lower courts.

#122178 Hey where can I sell my CS-Cart license?

Posted by whiplash13 on 23 September 2011 - 06:45 PM

P.S. John (whiplash13), if eBay offers to buy your CS-Cart-based online store for 1.3 million dollars, please do not forget about us ;)

Having heard that explanation, I definitely feel better about it as all of my cs-cart licenses were purchased under my companies name. Thank you for clearing that up.

P.S. I won't forget about you guys. I will make them pay for the license anyway just so you guys get the extra $$ :)

#121396 My First CS-Cart Website! How it looks

Posted by whiplash13 on 10 September 2011 - 01:10 PM

It is so odd and refeshing to not see a huge top menu with rotating images or flash or something. The site gets right to the meat and potatoes. Nice job!

#121257 Homepage modification

Posted by whiplash13 on 08 September 2011 - 03:11 PM

I want to add a BG picture to just the index page and see a previous post suggesting below is the way to do it, does not seem to work and hints on how to get this to work.

thanks in advanced.

1)Modify customer/index.tpl :

<body {if $controller == "index"}class="homepage"{/if}>

2) In your css file, define a different background or other different styles for:
body.homepage {}

I did that and then added (below)to my stylesheet

body.homepage {
background-image: url('/Images/background.png');
min-width: 970px;
text-shadow:0 1px 1px white;

Nevermind missed you wanted a BG image.

You could use Shipping Kits Shipping Availability addon.

I noticed when you reply to a post it defaults to quoting the old message. Can it default to not doing this? It makes the threads much longer if everyone keeps requoting the posts. Posters should only quote the post to emphasize a specific point and not every time.

Just click the big Add Reply button on the bottom and top of the thread. I like that it quotes when you click reply on a post.

#115514 Varnish Cache For Cs-Cart

Has anyone tried Varnish Cache with CS-Cart?

#115432 Forum Upgrade

Posted by whiplash13 on 21 June 2011 - 01:05 PM

I think the changes you have made are a big improvement. Maybe not the colors I would choose and I would still prefer the name, avatar and post date on the left, but it's much more readable now. Thank you.

#115059 Bring Back Old Forum

Posted by whiplash13 on 16 June 2011 - 02:55 PM

Today when i first enter the forum, i thought i redirect KB2.cs-cart.com because forum and kb2 skin are both same. :D but after that all dissapointed, i like the old forum skin, this forum doesn't have avatar, nice looking etc (May be count later), Admin you should have to make a option to change the skin.

They didn't just change the skin, they changed the whole board. They are using IPBoard now where as they were using VBulletin.
