In Topic: How to Speed Up and Optimise CS-Cart Version 4?

29 May 2014 - 11:49 AM

I'm not aware that I set up any privileges, so I may be using some kind of "root" user or something. I just went into my AWS console, created the secret key, and then copied that key and the secret key to my CS-Cart backend.

Ok, I went in and created a user specifically for this ... ended up assigning the user full CloudFront Access priviliges and it worked. No change in speed ratings ... but it's working. BTW, Amazon recommends not using the main admin user for 3rd parties like this.

I just entered my AWS key and secret key into CS-Cart and it did the rest. Took about 10-15 minutes for the stuff to transfer. Seemed almost too simple to be true.

I set this up last night and thought it was working ok, but it's stuck with a status of "in progress" in the CS-Cart admin. What permissions did you assign the Amazon CDN user? I only assigned the "create distribution" privilege.

Do you have to upload all your images to CDN or does the CS-cart app automatically replicate them?

I just enabled Amazon CDN and now I have an A A on GTMetrix!! (91% and 92%).

We'll disagree. If they have FTP access, they can see anything they want. I've given them FTP access before and they've performed admin functions. As for trusting ... no I don't trust CS-Cart support, or Magento support, or any other support.

I often have to give them FTP access... and in that case, admin groups don't help. They can see everything.
