Cart ON/OFF

An overall cart ON/OFF switch would be handy.

Such switch would turn ON or OFF only the cart funcions (prices shown - add to basket - checkout - etc)

By doing so, one could use your software as an online catalog with no cart functions and switch to cart when want to or be ready to do so…

Here is a suspend trade mod

Thanks for the promp answer but one would still have to edit various templates in order to dissable “View cart”, “cart is empty”, “checkout”, “orders”, prices etc which are spread all over the site and they are in different templates…

An overall ON/OFF switch would spare the one interested all this editing of templates…

Thus turning the cart in an online product catalog with no cart functions at all.

Anyway, It was just an IDEA for new features and improvement.

I think there was talk of this for 2.0. You could probably check on that part of the forum for that thread. I know that there were a few people interested in it.

It already is in 2.0, Administration -->> Settings -->> "Allow shopping for unlogged customers "

But this doesn’t disable the cart functionality, even for registered customers. I think it would be awesome to have this switch so we could use it as an online catalog too, instead of an online shopping cart software.

You can vote to have this feature added in the Ideas forum:
