froogle/google base settings? What is that?

Hello,

apparently everyone knows but me, what is froogle and google base? Am I missing out? Is it something I should use too?

This will help:

http://base.google.com

http://froogle.google.com

If you are not using it, you are missing out big time.

Very similar situation here. I can export the file but google base/froogle won’t accept the formatting. Wish we had some sort of walk through for dummies such as myself.

I may try to add a few of my top seller items into froogle manually.

i thought about that too, but i have quite a few items id like to get in there.

It worked now, i set the csv delimitor to “tab”, ( ive tried that before and it didnt work) and it tells me the file transfer is complete… but where did it go? i know that sounds like a stupid question but when i go to froogle and google the file is not uploaded and it didnt tell me if and /or where it is onmy computer.

You no longer post to Froogle, but rather post to Google Base to have both Base and Froogle products submitted. Your cs-cart bulk upload file should be in the format as specified in the bulk file upload section on Google Base. Most should be a Product feed type. Also check to see if it is gz compressed or text.

i exported the files to google/froogle and i got a message that they were uploaded successfully but now what. are they in google, froogle now?

has anyone gotten this to work, ive downloaded it t my computer then uploaded, dosnt work, have tab delimiter set

it some what work for my store.

If I Export 20 item, only 19 will be listed, the last item will get an error about pricing format. It won’t display item image on froogle.

It’s possible for it to link to the real catalog not the html catalog??

this dosnt work for me. my file gets rejected beacause its not in the right format.

how did you get it to work. i went to the froogle/google export page and have the passwords and everyting set right.

Same exact problem here.

when export i chose "It worked now, i set the csv delimitor to “tab”, "

with that format google except, and listed my product, but I still hav 2 problem

  1. The last item in the list will get reject (it complain about the price format for the last item)

  2. It wónt display the item image on Froogle

i have it set to tab, but it dosnt like the way my pictures are so the whole file gets rejected.

Did anyone got it to work?

I got it to work without any errors, but I still have one problem, google can’t seem to display the item picture all I got is the “no image”

This is how i got it to work

  1. I drop all my HTML catalog in CS-Cart
  2. Login google base and set up a bulk upload
  3. setup google base and foogle in CS-Cart
  4. In export catalog under froogle, do not check html catalog, just hit export it will take 10 sec to complete and another 10 sec to return to the previous page.
  5. When it return look on top of the page see if there any ftp error, if it was successful, then you are ready to go.

  6. Check back in google base to see if it uploaded. It usually take 10 mins to appear, and other 5 mins to process.

Let me know if you guys get it to work? and please show me if you guys get google to display the item image

tried that too. still dosnt work.

i just got an email that my google download worked, but they said it is formatted in the old google base not the new one.

I cant seem to get google base to work at all.

What do i need to put into filemane.

Is it products.txt

or just products?

Anyone know if/where the Gbase file that is uploaded is created on the host server? Everything appears to work okay but I cannot find the file for review. I tried changing the hostname/login/passsword for the googlebase feed to one of our servers so that I can review the feed information but cannot find the file on either the host server or the destination server.

Thanks for any help.

SOLUTION: Found output files in /var/compiled/

It seems that there are a number of problems with the Google Base feed:

  1. Items with a quantity of zero are listed
  2. Items not marked Avail are listed
  3. Items in categories not marked Avail are listed

Additionally, if SEO URLs are turned on, shouldn’t the item url be built using the SEO (HTML) url instead of the standard php url?

    Anyone else have any thoughts?
