Wholesale Price Import Problem

I need to update my Wholesale Prices and the price break quantities. To save time, I have exported into Excel where I have changed the prices. I then saved the Excel spreadsheet in comma delimited csv format.

I have now tried 4 times to import. I get:

Warning Your CSV file has incorrect data formatting (incorrect delimiter, missed fields, etc.) on the following lines: 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, etc. - 902

Then at the end:

Notice Data is imported successfully.

New objects - 0;

Updated objects - 15;

Total - 15.

Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

I downloaded my Wholesale Prices in cvs again and sorted by Product Code and Lower Limit to see what may have happened. One product now shows as:

1JC P 1444.8 1

1JC-P 1444.8 1

1JC-P 1444.8 1

1JC-P 1400 2

1JC-P 1366.4 3

1JC-P 1344 4

The first line was the first import. When I got the error I thought it was because there was a space between. So I changed the product code on the site and in the cvs file and tried to upload again. I imported a total of 4 times. Now I’ve got this mess. I don’t know where to go to remove these extra lines. They do not show in the cart under wholesale prices for the product.

Hi Sherry,

Have you tried manually inputting the correct data for a couple of products then exporting those products to see what the format is?

I picked two products and exported in comma delimited and this is what I get when I open in Excel. I’m sorry the line items do not show in line with the headers.

Product code Price Lower limit Membership

1JC 35 1

1JC 31.8 6

1JC 30.6 12

1JC 29.4 18

1JC 28.2 24

1JC 26.6 48

1JC 25.8 100

Tray 34 1

Tray 30.8 6

Tray 29.6 12

Tray 28.4 18

Tray 27.2 24

Tray 26 48

Tray 25.2 100

I just exported the problem product again in comma delimited and this is what I got:

Product code Price Lower limit Membership

1JC-P 1366.4 3

1JC-P 1344 4

1JC-P 1400 2

1JC-P 1444.8 1

They are not in Lower limit order but the line with 1JC P is gone now. So I am totally confused now. I am thinking I will give this problem to Jesse.

Issue Fixed.

Some applications don’t save the columns/rows with data correctly.

Blank cells will be saved, adding to the CSV and consequently breaking the CSV structure. Ensure you use a “good” spreadsheet program.

Are you saying Excel was the cause of this problem?

Nope, I use Excel 2007 to create that said CSV, some people use open office, apple “office” and a few other programs.

Providing it’s saved as “CSV (Comma Delimited)” .csv then it’s fine.

there’s a variety of CSV formats such as “MS-Dos” “Macintosh” “windows” etc.

Cs-Cart only accept the vanilla CSV, just as EXCEL would output.

Ensure that no additional worksheets are saves and all formatting is discarded as usual

That’s what I don’t understand. She was using Excel so what was the problem?
