I have a quote from CS-Cart team to add the functionality, anyone interested in splitting the cost.

I want to move forward on this, but I’m still waiting for an answer back from the quoter… I want to clarify the outcome. Here’s what they said they could do:



We can offer the “Search by options” modification.

  1. We will add the ability to search products by option variants to the customer area.
  2. The customer will be able to specify option variant name in “Quick search” input text field and in the “Find results with:” input text field on the “Advanced search” page in the storefront ([url]http://demo.cs-cart.com/index.php?target=search[/url])





    Here’s what I asked in reply:



    Just to clarify, the customer could search by product features? Specifically, if I have a product feature for, say, square feet, could the customer search for a min/max range?

Have you moved forward on it? I would be willing to split the cost to.

No, I never heard back from them, so I made the mod myself. It wasn’t that difficult… I patterened it after the “min weight/max weight” search and hard-coded the fields I wanted to search. You can see it in action at www.plans2build.com.
