I'm going nuts here, and it's probably very likely that I overlooked something, but I CANNOT figure out how to do flat rate shipping, say.. $3 per order. That's all I need, I don't need a fancy quote or anything, no need to even specify the carrier.

Just simple, add $3 to each order for shipping.

How do I do this?

On admin backend go to Shipping Methods, make a shipping method if you do not have one made. Then please see image attached and you can get a better idea on how to add a flat rate shipping charge. Let me know how it goes.

It does not work out for me. I try to setup $10 shipping with purchase of $100.
I set over $100 product cost, then $10 shipping.

However, it automatically created another option.
$0 product costs, then $0 shipping.

That means it's free shipping for the entire order even though $100 is not reached. Please help.

And what shipping cost you would like to have when the order total is less than $100?

I want it to show the actual UPS Ground cost. Is that possible?

As I understood you would like to set up the shipping method this way:
-if the order total is less than $100, the shipping cost is the UPS Ground one.
-if the order total is more than $100, the shipping cost will be $10 regardless of the destination.

Unfortunately, there is no ability to set up the shipping method this way in standard CS-Cart.

I can offer you the following:
- set up two shipping methods: UPS ground and the manual shipping method.
- set up the manual shipping method this way:
--if the order total is less than $100 - rather big cost (e.g. $200)
--if the order total is more than $100 - $10

In this case, if the customer order total is less than $100 he will see:
- UPS Ground - some value
- Manual shipping method - $200

Of course, he will select UPS.

If the customer order total is more than $100 he will see:
- UPS Ground - some value
- Manual shipping method - $10

In this case he will select the second shipping method.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you for your help, orangegirl. That seems to be a work around.
