How to view customers wish list in CS-Cart v1.3.5 SP3

 Hello all,

How can you view a customers wish list? I clicked on “Act On Behalf Of” in the customer section of the back end. I could view orders and other info but not wish lists. Appreciate any and all help.

If the customer was logged in, you can go to Admin->Users-User carts and hit the “+” sign in front of the customer name to see what is on their cart and/or on their wish list.

I am not sure what happens if a customer is not logged in.

Bob

Bloomin heck I have never noticed that area before.

What can I do with it?

Make them an offer to entice them to purchase.

If a user is unregistered it will say just that, therefore there isn’t much you can do with it.

I assume that the ones without names by them are the unregistered ones.

But I also have some with names that have purchased.

So I am confused as to what this list is actually showing.

It is showing current carts - no this is not the case - or what do we mean by current.

Is it showing all carts ever - no.

Is it showing abandoned carts - maybe - but then how long do they stay there for and is there a way to clear them?

It is not allocating stock to them so what is happening on this front.

Can I delete and reset the list? Should I?

Can I see dates as to when these carts were created - if so I cannot spot how to do it.

I have a feeling that there is something really useful going on here.

For example I can see why being able to view a wish list would be handy.

And as tool says send them a tempting offer if registered.

Maybe this is just stage 1 and we need to wait for a further release of cs-cart.

The cart and the wish list are 2 seperate things.

If I am not mistaken, by default the wish list is cleared after 30 days.

I don’t imagine there are any more stages to this. I am not sure what else there could be?

So do those user carts get cleared at some stage?

From the testing I have done, the carts do not get cleared until a customer is logged in and either manually removes items from his cart or has items removed due to stock being no longer available. It would be nice is we could set the retention period for user carts and wishlists.

It would also be nice if upon searching for products in the Admin->User carts area, we could select carts and send the customer a coupon code to entice the purchase.

Bob

I think that user cart area/thingy and wishlists and being able to view them has some serious potential to monitor what is going on and to increase sales and click through etc.

If it showed the date as well I could monitor the effectiveness of a campaign for a certain range of products but not just off sales but near sales and then as you say also send a teaser to encourage purchase.

Hi Bob, thanks for the clarification.

We have never used the wishlist feature, and we’re live, so I can’t really see it for myself. I’m wondering if by clicking the “+” the cart and wishlist will appear in separated boxes or if they are all mixed. Now I see only a div with the items in the cart, as our wishlist is disabled.

And another question: Is that the only way to have an overview of what is on someone’s wishlist? Can’t one see the products added to the wishlist by visiting the customer profile or something similar? Anyone there know anything about that?

Thanks in advance

I’m also wondering if anything of the sort I described above (wishlist) available in 1.3.4sp3 and 1.3.5sp2.

Cheers

The user cart and wishlist appear in separate columns, not interspersed.

Unfortunately, there is no direct means on reviewing a user’s cart or wishlist from the customer profile. You can use the “act on behalf of” option to be taken to the storefront where you can review this information. Direct access from the customer profile would be a nice addition; why not put in a feature request in the Bug Tracker.

Bob

It’s been said that there are no stupid questions, so I’ll put the theory to test…

What is the purpose of User Carts?

Are they abandoned carts? If so, why is no date shown for them? Pretty worthless without a date.

Are they just a random collection of stuff in a cart, gathered from time to time? If so, why go through the trouble?

Our company is trying to troubleshoot some problems of missing orders and stumbled across this “tool”. Turns out I’m the tool for thinking there was something of value here.
