UPS Shipping Labels module

Hi guys,

Today we are announcing the module to generate UPS Shipping Labels for CS-Cart!

Now you can print UPS shipping labels directly from the administrator back-end of your store with using our UPS Ship module, no special software required!

Install the module, register for UPS Online XML Tools and print your shipping labels just with one click!

Wow. I just wished I shipped enough to need this. After looking at what this mod can do I would think that it would be very nice to have if you ship UPS and have quite a bit of business. Good Job.

We are working on the add-on to generate USPS shipping labels, it will be available soon.

Does your Mod allow us to ship package weight over 150lbs

Can you cut and paste tracking information once the label is generated to the customer backend tracking field?

Can you change the weight of the package before printing the UPS label or are you bound from the weight of the customers order?

I’m not with shippingkit.com, but I am a user of their software now. So I figured I would answer a couple of the questions from personal experience.

  1. When you click ship (or to print a label) for an order using shippingkit within your CS admin, it automatically puts the tracking number into the tracking number field for you.

  2. By default shippingkit puts the package weight in a field that is based on what the customer puts in their cart. But you can then change this field to what the actual freight is. For example, our system will say something weighs 4 lbs, but when we packed it up it actually was just under 3 lbs. So we just change it to reflect the correct amount.

We have been using shippingkit software for a few weeks now and love it! It’s fast, easy and does a lot of the work for us.

Here is what we do to ship a package now:
  3. Pull up the customers order within the CS admin area.
  4. Go to the bottom of the page where the UPS shipping area is located.
  5. We can change the package size, weight and type of service. They installed a “quick click” on ours to choose our most popular ship mode.
  6. We click “generate label” which puts an actual picture of your label on the bottom of each order. It also list the actual amount of freight for you at the bottom too!
  7. Click on the “print” which opens up your label in a new window and allows you to print.

    That’s it!

Once we have done the above it marks the order shipped, puts in the tracking number, list the order number on the UPS label, and sends the customer a copy of the tracking number…all with that final click. We thought we had an easy system before, but this is 10 times better than our previous shopping cart!

I will second the motion to get the USPS mode. We do ship some packages via USPS and this would make it so much easier.
nice again! i was wondering any way you could make a mod of the ups module to export orders that needed shipped and then import the tracking after for people that use ups world ship?
So are you wanting to continue using Worldship? Is there a reason you wouldn’t want to just print your labels right in the CS admin area?

We have found it MUCH easier to not have to use the Worldship. No more “end of day reports”. No extra step at the end of shipping where we have to import tracking numbers. It is all pretty cut and dry…not to mention UPS keeps changing their Worldship program. When we turn on the Worldship program to ship orders from our other site, we have to restart Worldship multiple times while it makes more “updates.”

We ship usually at least 10 packages a day and upwards to 100 packages on other days and find the shippingkit.com program much easier to use.

Is there support for Zebra Thermal Label Printers?

Can you batch print labels?

Does it also change the order status?

Yes, it changes the order status, puts in the tracking number and sends the email to the customer.

I’m really not for sure if it prints on a zebra, we just get the free laser labels from UPS and print on those.

I am also not for sure on batch labels. I can see where this would be very beneficial.

I will send an email and find out.

Thanks for the reply

Here is the reply from shippingkit about thermal printers…
Yes. To use a Zebra printer you should switch the label image type to EPL2 (thermal) on the “UPS Shipping Labels Settings” page.

Also you should install a printer driver.

To do so, you need to create a batch file with a text editor.

  1. Open a text editor such as notebook or WordPad on your computer.
  2. If you are printing to a local printer, copy and paste the following:

    copy %1 LPT1

If you are using a network thermal printer, enter the following, replacing ‘Server’ with the print server name and ‘PrinterName’ with the

    printer’s name:

    print /d:\Server\PrinterName %1
  3. Save this notebook file as label.bat file on your hard drive.
  4. On a Windows computer, from your Start menu, find Windows Explorer. This may be in the Accessories folder.
  5. Click Tools in the folder window, and select Folder Options.
  6. Click the File Types tab.
  7. Click New, enter EPL as the file extension, and click OK.
  8. Click Change on the File Types subtab to set what the file should open with.
  9. Select your label.bat file, and click OK.
  10. Click Close and close the folder window.

We are planning to add this feature in a next version of the module.

So it is a little strange on the Zebra printer. I haven’t tried this yet as we are still using our current zebra to print price labels.

Is there any indication that a CS Cart 3 version of this module is available? I have set up a support ticket with shippingkit.com and have not yet received a response.

Haven’t heard from shippingkit in a while. You may want to check out…

Yeah, we just purchased the module from shippingkit about a month ago and during the pre-sale questions they mentioned they would have an upgraded module in about 1.5 weeks but haven't heard from them since. So I put in a support request and I wait.

I have been keeping an eye on the shiponline solution but the pricing structure doesn't work for us as we currently don't have enough sales to support a monthly fee based solution.

A CS cart 3 version would be nice.

Has anyone tried this with the Zebra printer yet? I seen Clips message which saying it does work but their response is a little confusing. I already have the Zebra print driver installed so I am not sure if that means we would need to do something else to get it to work with the CS-Cart software and add-on.

Just wondering if it prints the labels good on the Zebra TLP 2844

If Zebra works with this add-on then I am definitely purchasing this mod! :)
