SMTP Error message

I just now had an error message inside my admin zone when on a new order invoice page - when I checked the box to save a change and send an email to my admin email address (my personal gmail address)

The email failed, but my gmail account works and a PayPal email confirming an order payment from CS cart was sent to my admin email .

Only the invoice for the newest order was not emailed. (The order came after the problem)

Note no recent work done on my store at all and no other known problems my dedicated server is fine local ISP fine etc.

Any ideas?

I compared my email settings page to the same page in another store of mine and saw a box that needed to be checked.

That seems to have fixed the problem.

How the box got unchecked - I have no idea...

Very interesting - if not a problem now it could be a future problem for Cs cart?

In order to continue using Gmail, please try creating new application and set a password for it, then use this password instead of your GMail password in CS-Cart admin panel.

Currently the SMTP problem that I posted about was easily resolved by checking the authorization box.

Are you saying that all CS cart users will need to change to the app in the link?

If so will this be part of a future CS cart upgrade?

No, I am afraid, there won't be any changes in the future CS-Cart versions on this case. These changes are only related to how Gmail SMTP works with passwords and this cannot be managed outside your own Google Account.

If simply ticking in the necessary option was enough for your case to resolve the issue, that's the good news! :)

Anyway, the proper SMTP settings are always depends only on the used email service. And each of them has their own unique set of rules and settings, that should be taken into account, during setting up the SMTP mail settings in your store.

So basically I can relax now but keep an eye on the changes in Gmail workspace which is happening now.

I have a probleme with SMTP mail, and i can' find a solution.
Gmail is configured correctly in admin (smtp.gmail.com, mail, pass), I generated a new App password, but I still get this error:
"ErrorMessage could not be sent.
Mailer Error: SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/P...oubleshooting".
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

How to restoration problems with sending e-mail (SMTP)

Open the settings for your e mail in the utility or system you are using.
Locate the outgoing SMTP server and its settings.
Check the present day outgoing port and alternate it to 26 or 587.
Make certain any username and password fields are crammed in if shown.
Save adjustments and test.
