USA States add or not?

I currently have USA in a shipping zone without the states added and it works fine.

A customer from America orders and enters any state address and everything works smoothly.

If i add the states to the location with The country USA will it make the shipping process go faster or have some other benefit??

It will not make your shipping process faster.

For example, if you have USA and USA+MD locations, your customers from Maryland will get rates from second location.

So if the shipping rates are the same for all 50 states there is no need to add the states - is that correct?
