Is there a way to not have the product detailed page. As our shopping cart is pretty simple & there is no need for detailed description page for the product.

You could do it by just removing the links to the details page from the list pages - just make sure you have the option set to add to cart from this stage.

You'd also need to remove the links from bestsellers, shopping cart pages, invoices etc... Perhaps a search and replace of the templates would work?

Yes it is. I've done it on an X site. you basically take the Products.tpl and inside the products loop, you include product.tpl (minus some of the redundant info)
