Addon [Soft-Solid] - Generate Simple Sales Reports

Hello,

We present you a new extension to CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor which allows generating sales reports basing on categories, products or customer in CSV format.

We start from installing an extension:

Add-on configuration contains two options:

  • Order statuses counted towards statistics: select order statuses, that are taken into raports. With this option you can, for example, generate statistics about most frequently returned products.
  • CSV file separator: select char which is used to separate records in CSV file.

Reports configuration is available in menu Website -> Manage reports.

Menu displays all available raport and basic information about them. New raport can be created with + button in upper right corner.

During raport creation, the following options are available:

  • Raport name: identifies record on the list of reports. Does not affect raport content.
  • Data source: which raport should be generated. Four options are available:
    • Products: raport shows sale of selected products, defined in "Products" field later.
    • Categories: raport shows sale of products from selected categories. Each category has a separate record. Categories are selected in field "Categories" later.
    • Products in categories: same as "Products", but instead of pre-defined list of products, they are propagated basing on categories selected in field "Categories".
    • Customers: raport shows sales generated by customers, given in field "Customers" later.
  • Products, Categories, Customers: fields used as a source of data for generating raports.
  • Period - from / Period - to: fields defining range of dates, which should be used to download orders.

After preparing report, under the rack there are two options of raport generation available:

  • Preview raport: generates simple table with raport results and displays it in administration panel.
  • Download as CSV: raport is generated as CSV file (with separator defined in add-on configuration) and is instantly ready to download.

On the below example, we generate raport for certain products, over the whole period of store existence:

Raport contains name of record (category, product, customer), generated sale and additional info - for categories its amount of subcategories, for products - product code, and for customers - their e-mail address.

Raport in CSV format has a name matching day of generation and its content.

This is cool and similar to what we already have an add-on for using data feeds.

Something that is really missing in cs-cart is the possibility to export sales per brand AND customer. For wholesale this is absolutely necessary so we can see which stores sell which brand the best. It would be great if this could be added to this add-on.

Your suggestion seems like a good addition to add-on. However, we have some questions:

1. Would it be required to add a selector for brands? Or you'd just like to always take all brands available in store?
2. I assume that by "brands" you mean values of feature "Brand" assigned to product? Or you mean something different?
3. How do you imagine such file would look like? In our opinion, the best way would be customers as a rows, and brands as a columns - something like that:

Brand 1 Brand 2 Brand 3

Customer 1 value value value

Customer 2 value value value

Customer 3 value value value

Thanks for your answer and sorry for my late reply. To answer your questions:

1. A selector wouldn't be necessary, since we can always sort later in the spreadsheet.
2. Correct, I would use the brand/manufacturer feature
3. That would indeed be a very good way.

Hello,

We have added new functionality to our add-on. A new type of report has been added, allowing you to generate sales statistics of each brand for customers in your store. In a selectbox, you're able to select feature which is used in your store to brand products.

Generated report contains a column for each customer selected in report configuration. Each row contains sales values of one brand.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been able to contact you to test this, as I'm a bit up to my neck in work atm, also because of EU's new way to handle VAT... (see https://forum.cs-cart.com/topic/62601-eu-vat-one-stop-shop)

I didn't forget though but it will probably need to be after the summer vacation...

Hello,

We have added new functionality to our add-on. A new type of report has been added, allowing you to generate a report which contains both sales of the products (how many units were sold) and overall income from this product sales.

Hello,

We added new functionalities to add-on!

Raport "Brands purchased by customer" has been split into two separate ones, so you can get information both about total sales, and units sold.

We also added specification of each raport, so you know exactly the outcome before selecting type of raport.

In addition, raport "Products (quantity+sales)" now can be restricted to one customer instead of sum of all customers in store.

Add-on is now also fully compatible with 4.15.x releases of CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor.
